What, servers down. I totally want a refund, mounts for all my chars, 1,000,000 in SC and epics for all chars. Hmmmmm, maybe I shouldn't have put that little yellow pill I found on the street yesterday into my morning coffee.... Never mind!

In most large organs there is somebody responsible for things like this. They would lose their job for allowing this to happen. Lots of money being lost.
In the good ole days, like during the Reign of Terror in France, HEADS WOULD ROLL for this kind of snafu!

I vaguely remember seeing a message at the patcher when I logged back in last night around 1 am Eastern time...saying that the servers were going down at 4 am Pacific time iirc..
Surprised that up to 15 mins ago when I last checked .....no information or way for me to access SOE including all their sites..nothing.

That message is in regards to the scheduled patch on Wednesday. This issue is something different.

It's not. Don't expect to play much, or at all, until after the wed patch.

I can't access anything on the sony/eq
I can't access anything on the sony/eq site--DNS not found. I wonder if someone is hacking them? Normally at least the forums would be up, but nada.
I wouldn't be surprised (though we'll never know) if this one doesn't fall under the "disgruntled employee purposely messes up the to-do list before leaving for his/her new job, evilly grinning all the way at the carnage they expect _____ months later".
Or, less conspiratorily, what gbaji said in the other thread (paraphrasing) "They probably didn't think they were using that domain name for anything for ages, so no reason to renew it"

I read somewhere the last time the domain was renewed was 10 years ago. So that disgruntled employee was really patient for obtaining his revenge! That MUUUUHAHAHAHAHA must have been all the more sweet by allowing it to fester for a decade!
