On Firiona Vie an hour ago in revamped Mistmoore, my friends and I entered and did a camp check. We received no response. As we moved inward, I saw that the Stone Guardian was up, it was a full spawn around it and there were no other groups around the area. So we cleared five mobs and then I pulled the named. At that moment as I pulled, another (probably a bot) group from SYMPHONY OF ARMS with three toons +mercs showed up and claimed it was their camp. No sooner did I bring the named into our camp then the bard from their group trained us with another half dozen mobs and wiped us. I think Grotul was the most verbal of the SYMPHONY OF ARMS players there in /shout and the bard was something like Leonae. Needless to say, this kind of immature, punk behavior has angered me and happens far too often in this and any other game. It has happened to all of us at one time or another. But really, you childish pieces of crap, knock it off and grow up. SOE is to blame for not policing this better and SYMPHONY OF ARMS sucks if they permit this type of player in their guild.

Sorry to hear you had a bad night.

report your screen shots with you camp check and dialogue (if any) with the involved persons.

Look up their guild on your server and try to get an officer. Note that so many guilds are just one person now (with multiple accounts) so this isn't always as effective as it once was. A decent guild with real people in it will want to hear (calmly) from you. I've been a guild leader (small) in EQ... "Uphold the honor of the guild name" was always high on our list of rules (constitution/charter whatever you want to call it).

I've encountered very little of this behaviour for years. It seems to crop up in new/fresh/temporary content situations.

Aside from venting... you're not going to get much out of posting this kind of thing on allahkazam though.

SoA is a large well-established guild on FV. They have a bunch of members on right now (Sunday afternoon.) The advice above is sound, find an officer and report your complaint. Don't be hot-headed and rude about it, as that won't get you far. Most reputable guilds police the actions of their members and have policies against training, kill-stealing, etc. When I was a GL or an enforcement officer in my time I have booted members who committed such acts, particularly if it happened after a warning. Yeah you can petition Sony but I think you'd get a faster response from contacting a guild officer.

I have nothing to do with SoA, btw, never been guilded with them; just providing some advice.

I agree with snailish. I was the leader of a guild (still am, but we are only three people now) and the guild rep was always at the top of my list. I consider myself very lucky to have never had a complaint regarding any of my members. I also made it a point to contact other guild leaders when any of my members moved up in the world. I wanted to tell them what a good addition to their guild they were getting. To my immense pleasure, not one of my former members ever let me down. On one occasion, I even received feedback from a guild leader complimenting me on my former member, not that it was any of my doing.

I have also been a member of other guilds where I was ashamed to have ever displayed the guild name on screen. At times I have had to unguild my chars immediately. I am happy to say this has not happened often.

Thoughtful, calm feedback is the answer to problems as mentioned above.

Ahh you made me laugh Vinney.

...can you imagine if EQ GM's (guides) had this power:

"Due to a recent spike in complaints against your account we have decided to move you as Player-Killable" for the next 30 days. You name will appears in a special flashing colour. note that You may not attack other players, nor engage in activities contrary to our community or EULA standards. Enjoy!"

Nice idea and no doubt GM's could be empowered to issue that kind of punishment. But in reality the offending player would just log off and treat it like a 30-day suspension. Nobody would tolerate being killed at will and entirely unable to defend himself.

If the offender wasn't n Zek, a more suitable punishment might be a forced transfer TO Zek for 30 days. LOL. Someone who has not practiced PvP is going to find Zek a "challenging" server.

On the weekend just passed, I experienced "an immature punk" myself while helping my newest (lvl 40 at the time) Necro out of group with my high level Shammy in a secluded spot in the far west of Burning Woods. The person was a 93 Ranger with his LFG tool on.

While, it was just my two characters and him in the zone. Yet the person tracks (I assume) my duo and pulls a Wurm right over where my baby necro is fighting a mob. I ignored the reprobate and went about my business, only to realize a few minutes later, that all of the mobs in the area had around 40-50 ish % damage on them, while at that point the 93 Ranger is no where to be seen but still in the zone.. Maybe he meant well but then he should have communicated it because I will not interfere with already damaged mobs when another or others are in the zone. So I just went into anonymous mode, gated out and took my newest Necro to the Roost a little earlier than I would have liked to..

To cut a long story short, there are still a few players with no etiquette or respect for others. Its like seeing two people an a park bench chatting, and you (a stranger to both of them) decide to sit between them and open a newspaper and start to read...While there was another vacant bench under 20 feet away.

Sometimes I wish I could just log in my Necro main and land a couple swift dots on inconsiderate people like that, as sometimes they used to land on my own group members before they fixed the bug.

For the record, I harbor nothing against Rangers or any class in EQ... just against the minority of "punk like" players.

Agree with Snailish, if not on ZEK (lol Vinney) a nice bold flashing tag on ALL of that accounts characters would be fair punishment imo. Smiley: lol
