Some advice please - I need to get tailoring 100 for my SK epic.

Which is the fastest and easiest way (god, i have'nt spared any silk or hides or roots. Smiley: grin)?
Many guides seems to be updated like 10 years ago (Traders Corner, Almar's Guide).
What would you suggest?

Thank you in advance!

100 is so low, and of the quides should still be worth following. Should take all of an hour or two. Also, check out the guides at EQTraders.

Tat

PS - I see you did check EQTraders. 10 year old guide? LOL, not hardly, it's been updated much more recently. And for skillups < 100, nothing's changed, even if it were 10 years old.

I haven't had to level up this skill in a while but getting to 100 should be no big deal. The biggest problem is IIRC there are no vendor-mat-only recipes for tailoring beyond very low levels. So you need to pharm skins or silks---or be lucky enough to be able to buy them affordably in your server's Bazaar---to get the work done. The thread here on Tailoring, as well as the tradeskill website eqtraders.com, has info which is mostly still valid, especially at sub-100 skill levels.

There's also a quest in Crescent Reach that gets you to 54 quickly.

I'm profligate when it comes to leveling trades, meaning that if I can buy or find the mats, I take a very high trivial and use it to level up, simply because I'd rather waste mats and plat than spend time pharming. You can do a trivial of 450 at a trade skill of 1 and still get skillups. And once in a blue moon (or even rarer lol) you'll find yourself making a combine successfully and that's always a kick!

And if you really don't mind investing some RL money, you can buy a Draught of the Craftsman with SC which gives you two hours of no-loss combines. The attraction of this is you don't need so many mats---you only lose mats IF you succeed. I used to find myself rooting AGAINST success when I was leveling under this "buff" since I didn't want to have to go find more mats.

Thanks :)
Going to follow EQ Traders then.
I just wanted to be sure and not to realize after, that I took a old/long way Smiley: tongue

Edit:

And thanks, Sippin!
This is very useful info!
I will look for this quest in Crescent Reach - I am pretty sure, that gathering/looking all those silks and belts and stuff would take lots of time.
One SK wrote on forums he spent 6 hours (real time) to get tailoring to 100. Actually I am not too exaited about this perspective Smiley: tongue .

EDIT: And it's 54 max for free in Crescent Reach or optionally in Abysmal Sea. I always do the Crescent Reach ones to start with.

And scroll down from the link, didn't realize it was to the Poison Making section.

ALSO: For teh love of Cazic-Thule, get your Beginner Trophy for Tailoring (or anything else for that matter) before you hit 100 skill. Your trophy will evolve as you do the tradeskill.

PROTIP: I find that trophies evolve faster if the skill you are working on is yellow trivial.

Then make these.

Trivial tops at 112. Just get someone to make the Hickory Handled Shears for ya (if you can't make em yerself) because the rough pelts are freakin super easy to get.

EDIT: "wasy"?..really?.../facepalm

Thanks for advice - good tip!
I can make Shears myself - my necro has smithing skill high enough Smiley: nod

Thank you Bijou!
I followed your path and completed it today :)
I am pretty sure that's the easiest way if you have smithing skill or someone to make the Hickory Handled Shears - minimum farming. And I was lucky enough to get pelts from bazaar Smiley: grin
I still had to rise my necros smithing from 100 to 137 - it was my mage with that high skill which was'nt smithing but brewing.

I'll write it down on SK 1,5 epic thread too - seems that this knowledge is pretty obscure and needs to be spreaded.
