Will equipment support multiple monitors or desktops??Follow

I am returning to eq after 5 years. I plan on boxing two accounts and needed to know can I play or will it support multiple monitors in windows 7 or 8 and multiple desktops in windows 10. If so is there a program or script I can setup to make boxing, easier, perform better, more reliable. I ask because when I would attempt to box before lag between accounts one character if not both be dead or I would focus one account by the time I reacted to second account dead, pesky learning disability.

I am 2boxing and I run two accounts on my nongamer, business class laptop (W 7) with integrated graphic card. I don't use any program or script, just swapping tabs and there's no lag.
I had the same questions before I started 2boxing and I suggest just to try how's it working out for you - it's all much easier than you think :)

Check out ISBoxer. It's "legal", too, under the EQ EULA. It's NOT free, however.

Even without a special program like ISBoxer you can improve multi-boxing on one computer by assigning a core of your PC to each instance of EQ. This can be done from within Windows. ISBoxer forums probably explain how to do this, or you can just Google something like "gaming core assignments" since this is relevant to many video-intensive games.

If memory serves, while not required, creating a separate EQ directory for the box account used to be good practice. With modern boxes, that may not be necessary.

And then there is the approach my wife and I took - separate boxes for each account - never have to lose sight of what each player is up to or where it is. Of course there is a cost, but to us it is the only way to truly box and have fun doing it.

^this was how my brother used to do it.

On occasion he (and his significant other) would live with me and we'd have 3-4 different computers running with their own monitors.* This was not luxury... most of the computers were 5 years old in 2007, but they'd run the game with settings tweaked. We had one old Dell that was closer to 1999 vintage and it could barely load the game in... but once logged in it could buff you!

It's 2015 though... so a couple of used 2010 computers should run this game like a rocketship... and they should be cheap.

*Once my brother got a good newer computer he'd tab out box as well, but he prefers the "Neo" approach with the bank of monitors and keyboards if he can.

I prefer separate computers and monitors too. Octavia can't stand being that close to me though to use her computer to box, so Alt+Tab now whenever I need to box.

The line of computers reminds of school days, where I'd keep 4 computers busy all the time and still have to wait on them. I don't multi-task that well any more, and computers are usually waiting on me now-a-days!
