Sticky bloat on the forum and trafficFollow

The way it was usually done on all the Zam forums was an absolute maximum of 3 stickies (if any) to promote fresh traffic views rather than a heavy stack of seldom posted in threads at the top of the 1st page. As well, once upon a time, many browsers, in particular on mobile devices would clip off after a small number of threads so too many stickies would make it look like there was no traffic (unless someone posted in the stickies). While the mobile device situation may no longer hold as true, we seem to be getting a lot of stickies lately.

Users, I'd like to see your input. I want to consolidate the number of stickies down. Here's my baseline proposal:

"Forum information and useful threads" stays as it is the "table of contents" for a wide variety of topics, including several former stickies.

"Just Starting? Been Away and Returning" stays as it is a reboot of one of the most viewed threads on the forums. Also, if we don't have it stickied at the top we tend to posts overlapping what is already there. NOTE: this thread could use a 2017 live server and progression server rewrite and update.

EQ Housing Gallery of ideas I would say leave as a sticky, current view count is 7750 with 42 replies. If that doesn't change much in the next 6 months then it could go into the FAQ compilation.

The 4 stickies about Item Collector & premium service can all go under Forum information and useful threads.



As far as site traffic goes... right now even the official boards (including progression) are in a December lull it seems. We are however, missing our weekend update thread. I really like not being the one starting that thread. Traditionally it is a Monday thread to reflect on the weekend that just passed. I encourage any user to start the thread, and all users to login and participate in the community.

New people post at Reddit and Steam. Returning EQ players generally stop by for maps and crafting drop information. And then come the "I hate Daybreak Games" disgruntled whiners with post counts of one.
