Looking for volunteer adminsFollow

We're looking for more volunteer admins here for Allakhazam! Specifically we are looking for people who have contributed to the site or are current contributers.

What does a volunteer admin do?

What we do as volunteer admins is help gather information and enter it into the site via quest, npc, items, tradeskills , etc.. We do this by either gathering information in game, researching information or getting information from players either in game or here on the site.

How often would I be required to help?

There isn't a set time that you have to help out. However we are looking for people who are active in updates.

Here is what you'll need in order to be considered.

1. Have a minimum of 100 posts in updating content through items, quests, and other areas. Forum posts not related to updating content will not be taken into consideration for this total.
2. Have at least a karma of 3.0 or better. Admins can see your karma rating. Karma goes from 0 to 5.

What information is the site lacking?

Just to give you the scope of how far we are behind in gathering information, we have over 6700 items in our database that has no information attached to them.

Currently we lack information on The Broken Mirror and The Darkened Sea. We also just recently added the Original tag for classic items, we need people to help tag all classic items and tag recipes from classic expansions since we now have expansion tagging available for recipes.

Also we want to build a wiki section for progression servers. There are certain things about progression servers that are different than how content used to be. We are looking at providing information on those differences. Such as NPC's with MotM buffs. Agent of Change raid information along with how zones are set up specifically for those raids. Progression server only recipes and the list goes on.

Why can't your current admins help take care of all this?

We don't have enough active admins to help us get all of this information we need in the time we need it done. There is only a handful of us right now that actively provide information for Everquest. Some of us provide input almost daily, some only once a week.

In order to get the information we need, we need a large team of active volunteers. We get quite a bit of input from players posting here on the site and right now that is helping us out greatly and we appreciate it. However we need admins also to help research information and play in game to extract information. There is a ton of work to be done here on the site and we just don't have the people to make sure it gets taken care of.

I've been working on class spells lately for the first few expansions. If you are looking to help with all that classic content, please hit me up.

You can go through the old zones and look at the items tab on each zone and that will give you an idea on all the old world items.

The expansion tag will be right under where it says the last time the item was updated. For example Updated: Thu Oct 9th, 2008 and right under that should be an expansion tag. If not, then that item hasn't been tagged yet. There are thousands of Original to Velious items we haven't tagged yet. Running the item collector on those items will help get them updated if any information has changed on them over the years. However it takes an admin to tag the items for the expansion they came out in.

You guys still need assistance? I run a guild website with some info about everquest, so yes i'm familiar with most control panels and such. I'm also an old time EQ player and still, if you still need help i can provide some of my spare time.

I would like to help. I play alot on the new progression server and I would be happy to help with tagging the classic stuff, verifing levels of npc and other information. Please advise how I help.

I would like to help by adding pictures for items that are missing here on the site if that is possible. I dont meet the minimum requirements, but still willing to help :)
