I marvel at how usually gear prices in the Bazaar don't drop much BEFORE an xpac, especially one like incoming with a 5-level cap increase.
I mean the groupable gear with 4000-4400 HEM is still "fixed" in the 700k-2m range and it's all stuff which will be supplanted with, what 5000-5200 HEM gear in a month's time. I'm talking on FV here, can't say what happens on other servers altho tradable zone-wide rares should be coming down as well. And big time. Since the new groupable gear will be approaching those items in stats.
Especially where a lot of the Bazaar selling is by "pros" (Pharmers) and they have good sense of the economy. They should be blowing out such stuff to minimize their losses when the new expac hits and new stuff goes on sale.
If I remember my long ago Macro and Microeconomics courses, the market in EQ is usually very "elastic", meaning prices move up and down rapidly in response to changes in the game. You see with price movments with kronos. But it's rather inelastic with pricing right before a new xpac. Maybe it's the "head in the sand" syndrome.
Personally I cut prices on a lot of my Bazaar stuff and was happy to see a lot of it sell.
