Anyone else get the strong feeling from the Beta that these zones should have been included in the EoK "expansion"?

I get the same vibe as I did years ago with LoY that we were getting a half-expansion.

I guess we should be happy to get ANY expansions at this point, especially with a level cap increase. The new zones are fun to explore. I was surprised to see the tigers have spell-casting ability ("rake", a snare/dot), first time in my memory that big cats have had that ability in EQ. They're also KOS to druids... yet another abandonment of classic EQ lore, namely that druids are friends of all real animal mobs.

The citizens of The Overthere, being the central hub of the expansion, appear to be non-KOS to all races, which makes sense since it's the hub, but runs against the whole spirit of Kunark, where "goods" would travel to Firionia Vie zone and "evils" would go to The Overthere.

I remember ruining my Venril Sathir faction to the point where I was max KoS to the OT outpost even as a DE. Can't do the faction quest in OT when you are KoS to the quest giver. Only way around that was to kill Kunark dragons and that's not an easy task when you are level 60.

Faction was one of the core characteristics of EQ which made the original game interesting and challenging. It's too bad it's effectively entirely abandoned.
