Based on the fact that sometimes the items developed by the devs are similar in nature to real life items...
~Perhaps this is the developers version of the real life version which is referred to as Vigna, It's a flowering plant in the Legume family that produces seed pods with different names one of which is the Black eyed pea....just possible useful info.

Ngreth posted in the EQ forums that they have no known use and the test patch notes mention that they are taking the TS flag off all those items.
