Recently, I was playing with a friend after I had gotten Comatose on my SK and he told me that if I stayed FD for too long it would kill me. Is this true?

There is nothing inherently corrosive about FD itself. Monsters who were in combat with you will eventually retreat, returning to their own area. However, if you saved yourself from death and are just on the borderline, whatever negative spell that may have been eating at you will continue. You will regenerate health and mana while FD but it is slower than the affliction. Also, if you have running a leech spell to regenerate mana while consuming health that may kill you while FD.
