I was wondering if these guys would be the best choice for Theif/ ranger combo? Or if I should go with Elvaan... Thanks for you help! :)
Yes, because of their high AGI & DEX they make the best THF & they'd probably make good RNG also.

im thinking more along the lines of a theif mage because the race is fast and the mp is high

I played beta for 3 months (how I wish I had just bought the japanese version), and yes the Thief/Ranger combo is a good combination, but one of the better combinations will be when you can have 2 advanced jobs i.e. the Ninja/Ranger combo or Ranger/Ninja because with Ninja you get the dual wield ability. personally I'm going Nin/Rng. but as of now I'm Whm/thf for the easy partying for being whm, and gathering gil with thf ability.

But what's the point of getting Ninja to duel wield if you're gonna be going Ranger? You can't duel wield bows or guns.

Because you can dual wield the archer daggers(i think they are daggers)

Ranger is probably the best class for mithra. Thief should be equipped as a sub class because it is very difficult to keep your gil high enough to buy lots of arrows or bullets. You could just use the thief's ability to steal items/gil.

why want to be theif/ranger?? Are u fool? You get the money and waste the gil with a stupid shot.
