The general discussion used to be full of posts and the last thread on the first page was never older than a day. Now the general has threads that are 3 months old on the first page.

I had to get back into the game and finish what i started. I won't let XI slip away with incomplete story lines. But, more importantly, my BLU is still only lvl 12. The same as it was some almost 10 years ago lol.

its not strange in the least, maxing every job imo is far more strange. A tad oc imo.

I'm on my 3rd return (FINALLY finished WotG last night...what a lame ending), I don't have all the jobs maxed. I find it odd to max them all, even if it is really easy with all the EXP bonuses.

If I maxed all the jobs I'd have to do all the WS quests, and I really don't want to solo 300 WS per weapon :3

I've done my goal. Might take a break for a bit and decide if I want to do SoA missions. I enjoyed that I could solo all the old stuff and didn't need to try and seek out people. I'll finish RoV up to w/e I can (rest of chapter 2 I should be able to handle).

I concur, there's so much stuff now, that I would say maxing out every job is excessive.

I haven't played in a couple of years. And no, i did not max out all my jobs. There are still about 4 jobs that i never even unlocked. Why max out jobs that you have little interest in playing?

Would also say there's a difference between getting something to 99 and it being endgame playable, too. Overall, there's a rampant disconnect on virtually any game forum about what "everybody" does or can do, generally erring more toward the hardcore end of the spectrum. The likely reality is the people playing less than 10 hours a week are probably only going to have one or two 99s here and likely heavily focusing on one due to JP/CP nowadays. If you're not fortunate to have a good LS, your ceiling of progression is also both lowered and slowed (i.e. You're probably not doing Delve or Escha NMs).

Abyssea era progression was arguably more a result of excess. Wanted specific seals from an NM? Well, RNG being what it was, you could easily get enough seals for another job before you finished the ones you're after. Sometimes parties were built specifically to spread the love in this case, but it didn't always work out like that. Even then, having +2 Empy gear wasn't a guarantee you were set for a given job. Personally, I err toward favoring this style simply because not making this rare or out of reach makes more people inclined to share or not feel so defensive about chasing something specific. Unfortunately, this seems more the exception for MMOs than the norm, even though I'm observing trends here and there indicating that raids may not be the go-to exclusive endgame in the future.

This. I can't imagine anyone having "maxed out" every job. At some point, you will have to focus on one or two jobs.

Well... to be fair, you can use Ayami trust to open WS for you. She will use an opener when you are at full TP based on whatever WS you last used. So you can get multiple points per WS

This. I just let my sub go because I can't really do anything but solo JP at this point. There is no casual endgame anymore. For awhile there I was able to do whatever the hot event was, at least the lower tiers. Now, there is just a big wall there... it started with delve and I have never been able to catch up since then. Soloing is just not fun enough to justify the subscription. On top of that they made my fave job really irritating an unfun to play (RIP BST) so I just don't see any reason to give them my money.

I might resub at some point and just finish stories but, I am feeling very bitter about the game currently so... I don't know when that would be.
