Ok i went out and bought a trial of the game. Now that it is installed and fully running i have a few questions:

1. I installed the trial via the "install Final Fantasy XI" button, do i need to go though each exp. install or did that one button take care of them all?

2. Once i tried to install Chains of Promathia and Treasures of Aht Urhgan after Rise of Zilart i got mutiple errors regarding .dat files. (one was a 9.dat in folder rom3 *Chains of Promathia* the other was se298005.spw *treasures of Aht Urhgan*) Neither install would manage to get past them.

3. Is there a way to move around with the WADS or is this fully point and click (or rather click and drag to run)?

Why does it seem that only FFXIers get lost in the Wikibase feedback forum? Smiley: confused

Well first off, welcome too FFXI, hope you enjoy it. :) As for your questions..

1.) I dont know how the Install works on the trial disc. My instal was the one on 4 CD's and expansions bought seperately, so obviously were installed seperately. You can find out easily enough though, if the expansions are installed, when you start the game, on the screen which has character select and create character, the expansions will be listed under where it says Final Fantasy XI.

2.} The errors, im not so sure. May be a problem with the disc. ry cleaning the disc, or running in a different drive if you have one. You can also try the file check which you will see on the menu when you start up playonline and before you log in.

3.) Iv'e played the game for 3 years now, haven't used the mouse since the first week I played. :) If you have a full sized keyboard, you can use the numpad on the right to move yuor character, and the arrow keys to move the camera. If yu have a compact keyboard, when your logged in bring up your menu and go to config. theres an option in there to set movement to wasd.

Hope that helped. A little tired atm, so hopefully that all makes sense. :P

Buy a control pad if you don't already have one. It makes things alot easier.
