Leaping Boots Question (was forum=82)Follow

I was wondering how long leaping boots lasted? I know they are the best, but do they last until level 30, 40, 50, until there are better?

Depends on what job and how much gil you have.
For MNK/SAM/NIN untill the 20s and Fed.Kyahan
For THF (TA macro), untill 72 or 73 and Enkidu or Dragon Leggings
For a lot of DDs untill 59 and Tabin Boots+1

I wish. ^^; I'd use 'em until 50, probably.

For Puppetmaseter, oh wait, I farmed Lizzy for a weekend thinking pup could wear those boots. Then I discovered, wait.. bard can wear them, not a pup though, they're too heavy.

For thieves they are amazing.

For dragoons they are also nice, since penta thrust gets +20% dex modifier (same as str).

Ninjas also get +agility. While they may not last forever, they last long enough to be worth having.

Classes that suffer in terms of ACC can use them for a while too - 3 dex contributes (albeit small) to your chance to hit.

All in all, camping LL for the boots was worth it.

Never used them with my WHM or BLM

I don't think I'll ever sell my Winged Boots due to the sheer amount of jobs you can use them. As has been said, excluding NIN and SAM, any DD job that can wear em can get away with them till 60-70+

I still use them on Sam and blue mage from time to time when I need some more accuracy. Blue 60, Sam 66.

I've watched mobs go from Incredibly Tough with high evasion to incredibly tough with these boots.

I also keep Empress Hairpin for the same reason. It's not a full time thing, like most stuff sh*t is situational.

Also:

Ding!

that is all.

If they're Ra/Ex, then fine, if you've got them off the AH, sell them for 200k+ and buy tabin+1 for 60k. For same just use Fed Kyahan.

Seriously, you make 3 Dex out to be awesome. It really isn't.

Oh, and you realise the bolded bit is just pointless and stupid? Well done, you geared yourself so that 1Acc difference changes the /check message from a mob.
Tip: If I equip 3Dex and A mob goes form High Evasion to Neutral, if I eruip the same 3Dex on a tougher mob, and don't get a changce in check notice, it doesn't mean jack ****.

Also, who the **** fights mobs that con high evasion?! Suck less.

Virtually every EXP party...

Anyway, 1/1, 1/3, 1/4, and 1/14 on Lizzy. ^^;;
Various characters or for people, the 1/1 being the time they were actually sellable. I was just happy to get them.-

Colibri High Evasion
Beetles Tp move boosts evasion
Tri-bats Tp move boosts evasion

Need I go on? Also you might want to do some research before spouting bullsh*t. A while back 2 handed weapon users were given an update. In this update they changed the formula for dex and str. with the new calculation 4 dex = 3 accuracy. (/sarcasm off)

Now before you say it, yes I understand this doesn't affect blue mage. Did you miss the part where I also have Emp pin? so 6 dex, ra/ex and useful for nearly every job early on, isn't worth it? not to mention 6 agility, 10 evasion total from 2 pieces.

Would you scoff at a dd for not using a spike necklace? I would. Why so hostile anyway?

Also your argument is incorrect. More accuracy is still good if you don't get a change in check notice. Maybe you should use a parser to determine your accuracy instead of the mediocre check system and your eyeballs before exploding on an internet forum because you're bored sitting at work of lfg on whatever job you're gimping up. You remind me of samurai's who full-time strength rings or a dark knight who says "don't heal me I'm using drain."

Protip 1: If colibri con high evasion, you're too low level for them. Go exp on something weaker.
Protip 2: If you're exping on beetles, you bring a job with dispel.
Protip 3: None of the bast you exp on use Slipstream (Assuming you hit ToAU at 55)

Bolded for stupidity, simply because "accuracy is still good if you don't get a change in check notice" is exactly what IW as saying by "If I equip 3Dex and A mob goes form High Evasion to Neutral, if I eruip the same 3Dex on a tougher mob, and don't get a changce in check notice, it doesn't mean jack sh*t.".
+X Acc is +X% Acc, whether it changes the check notice or not.

Why so hostile? Maybe it's the lack of sleep over the past few days. Maybe it's because my university has ninja'd me a re-take letter, or hell, maybe it's just because I've reached my weekly ****** quota and can take no more.
