Accounts that were BAN or SUSPENDED on October 22, 2008 (wasFollow

The OP did not get a ban. He's on my server and he's online right now.

I thought at first this thread was somewhat serious. Despite his english skills that make me want to throw a dictionary at his head, I though someone was generally displeased at the bannings, probably because he or his friends engage in RMT activities. I feel its wrong, but genuine.

And then I had to rofl. Really, I spurted soda from my nose (Painful btw). That was the most blatant, hilarious, and unbelievable lie I've ever heard someone utter. And that includes someone once telling me they had a 99BLU on another server once in the dunes.

Yea... I'm sure the game was the one and only thing that made that guy kill himself....

Probably had nothing to do with his combination of multiple medications, ADD, epilepsy, depression and paranoid schizophrenia... those damn video games take another life...

Or... It could just be a fabrication? A slight of truth? Misdirection? I can hardly believe banning is so devastating that three people would commit suicide. One person, maybe, if they have a severely horrible life and a terrible outlook to accompany it. But three? That's not believable. Unless you hang out with an emo crowd. And let's not start ANOTHER emo discussion...

Not unless we want lolgaxe showing emo pictures...
#33REDACTED, Posted: Oct 24 2008 at 2:18 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) you must be pretty dense & stupid to not accept the possibility of someone suiciding over a game they've invested years of their life into and is part of their everyday life.

People have commited suicide for reasons such as being dumped or rejected by their girlfriend. or because their favourite team lost a championship. They're are all reasons strong enough for someone to fall into a state of depression which can cause someone to believe that the only way out of their suffering is to off themselves.

having said that, i have no sympathy for people who kill themselves. I find it to be an act of selfishness and temporal stupidity which will only scar the people close to you for the rest of their lives.

Its a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

You must be kidding. Suicide never stems from a game alone. It's a straw that breaks the camel's back. Suicides suffer from a lack of support. People don't ask them about their intentions, people treat suicides like crazies, when what you should do is speak to them about it. They cry out for help, and they don't kill themselves over a game.

I have no sympathy for you, either. Suicide is serious, it doesn't come from being banned, and its not a solution at all.

I agree that being banned from a game is not the only reason. but you have to understand that there are people who have no life outside of their online "virtual selves".

think of your typical introverted kid who never made any friends in school. these type of kids have found on the internet a way to socialize. these "social games" become their life.

these people are often proned to depression. and losing their "virtual" selves can cause these people to fall into a deep state of depression.

You cant measure everyone with the same stick man, to you or me a game is part of a hobby. we play it and we spend time on it. but we also have lives outside in the "real" world. for us losing a character can resemble to something like losing your bike. or having your car stolen or something like that. its something material.

But you cant assume that every single person in the world that plays these games is like that. like i said. to some people these games have become their life.

Yes, you can fall into a depression from losing a game that you invest a lot of time in. But that depression takes time to convince you that suicide is an option. It doesn't happen overnight. It's very gradual, and during that time, suicides often call for help, leaves very strong clues as to their intentions, and try getting as much attention as possible.

The OP stated that three people killed themselves over the bannings. One I can see, but for three people to have the same reaction? Only two days ago? Without going through a long state of depression? I don't believe that, especially since it seems like the OP is lying.

I deduced that, I am not assuming people do not kill themselves due to material losses.

its like if i said "cutting off your leg is a temporary solution to your knee problem" it is obviously not a solution and clearly i dont think it is... i mean come on.... geez its a matter of speech. and only a stupid person would consider going through with it.

When you say that, it sounds like you're calling suicides stupid for making the decisions that they do. It is not intelligent, but it doesn't mean they are defunct in mental capacity. It means they are desperate and have gone to an extreme length that they believe makes sense.

Anyway

At least we both agree that the OP sounds like complete BS.

people commiting suicide just hours after the ban? ridiculous. days maybe. but not hours.

True, that was what I was getting at.

I believe that SEI must Recruit more people to work with it , as well as get some of the GM that went on Vacation back to work that way the waiting on the "Live Chat" would be a lot less and more people would be Satisfy with SEI , giving it a better image.

also I believe SEI should be much more specific about its agreement

on October 22 , some accounts were BAN or SUSPENDED

yet , SEI didn't Specify why Exactly , your user Agreement says : RMT= Selling gil or items

or Third party tools = cheats

but it doesn't SPECIFY what , so I had friends of mine complaining to me that their account was suspended, I told them to contact "Live Chat"

they still say it took them over 5 hours to get someone with them , and some of them never did, that makes SEI look Extremely BAD in everyone's eyes.

As well as the BAN or SUSPENSION of accounts , most players live in FEAR of SEI instead of in agreement , if you guys would be able to Give chances and work with the player instead of INTIMIDATING us , I know FFXI would be a better Experience for us all , and less need for those players who are RMT or third party tools to be around, Like in a School , if you do something bad you don't get BAN 1st time , you get Suspended , u only get BAN if it is your 3rd time

Yet SEI makes all the players PARANOID about getting BAN over little Issues, that SEI would be able to IGNORE instead of doing this to the players

some people got nothing but this game , and if SEI takes it away , they become quite suicidal , I had 3 FRIENDS who SUICIDE because of the October 22nd 2008 Account SUSPENSION

they had nothing but the game itself

so if I must bring to your attention SEI

don't BAN the players , BAN the people who SELL the GIL or ITEMS , also don't Suspend the Account out of nowhere, without a notice or FAIR Judgment

Let's ALL WORK together to :

1- Get to the REAL PROBLEM of RMT ( the SELLERS )

2- Work on the Economy itself , cuz BAD Economy = people tend to think of RMT

3- Work on the DROP Rates , FFXI gets really BAD Drop Rates , it Frustrates the player , camp a notorious monster that pop every 21-24 hours and it won't drop the item at all

4- Showing the player that GM are Fair about decisions

5- Talking to the people who were suspended , so they don't go in PANIC and end up doing Real Life BAD stuff

6- Letting players know that SEI wants to WORK WITH them , (NOT AGAINST) them

With all this to your attention SEI , I hope you guys Realize that , players think you are a MONARCH , you do W/e u wish without Reasoning or Out of Nowhere

Players been quitting FFXI because of this Attitude SEI been implying onto us ( THE PLAYERS )

( This whole thing will be POSTED on ALL FFXI WEBSITES + Myspace + Facebook + Deviantart + Others and Sent to all players that I know as a Reference , that way I get an Assurance I won't get BAN for this which is my TRUE HONEST OPINION )

Thank you !

If you've been ever shamed by you english mistake, I can maybe save you from disapointing years.

Have I met members countless men and women being who are held back in their social jobs and lives, without often knowing it, because express themselves, they cannot, fully and easily.

ABOUT YOU, WHAT?

If people are not impressed the way you speak and write - if and your enough honest to admit it yourself - have you taken already the first big success step.

HERE'S TO DO WHAT?

You master English good. without school going back to! Years over thousands I have helped, men and women, their own homes right there in.

I'm sorry, thats what the post made me think of. I'm guessing automated web translation butchered it. xD

I hereby dub this occurrence as a person being 'chronologically insensitive'.

There are varying degrees of course, from necroposting 2008 threads to contesting Newton's laws.
