To all the people out there who have gotten the Orison Cape does anyone happen to know if there's any special conditions to getting it? The group i hunt Mangy-tailed is something like 0/12 now and we're wondering if we have to trigger a special weakness effect (the "!!" over it's head) to get it to drop. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

We've gotten the drop without the weakness, but we are like 2/20 or something like that.
I was 0/20 on the cape while trying everything we had in our ******* (usually dagger WS and trying every spell I had as RDM/SCH). Finally, to change things up, my friend came MNK to tank it and triggered blue !! with Asuran Fists and cape dropped.
It's almost too bad, because we were making mad cash on trophy drops @ 250K a piece.

I went 1/4 on it. No !! at all, we did have TH4 though. We tried various stuff to get the !! but never saw it on this particular NM.

Our ls has had similar experiences. We're probably 2/10, trying to take advantage of TH4 as often as possible. I can't recall having seen any !!, or I probably would have updated wiki. Keep at it; good luck!
One thing I've noticed about these NMs is that low-manning the baby ones is better, simply because you can control or avoid triggering the !!s when you have a smaller number of people. It's easier to track down what cased the !!s - when you have 18 people, you may not be able to definitively says that a certain spell or WS triggered it.
1/2 on. Got it as RDM/NIN and BLM/NIN duo. Don't recall !! but we were kiting/pinning so it was hard to tell.

We got a !! with a Bio 2 on this but it only dropped a ring.
