Starting fresh, the old fashioned wayFollow

How many people would actually be down to start fresh characters and level up and go through the missions, in a group, the old fashioned way? I'm not talking about a rigid static or anything like that. Just a group of people playing the game together, more or less in the spirit of the classic FFXI.

Most people willing to do this probably already play. The majority of friends I know who are still able to play already have their accounts reactivated or soon will. They're mostly just coming back planning on meeting up with old friends from years ago to relive the old days. I don't think any of them are starting fresh, they just want to be there when the last page of the final chapter turns, so to speak.

I still login fairly regularly and there are more than enough people who are just jumping back in. You'd probably have no trouble just starting an account and finding a social LS to reminisce with about the past Smiley: nod

I wish SE would made one simple fix to FFXI. A self imposed level cap. For example: I want to level in Valkrum Dunes but my friends and I all have jobs that are way above 20. That area is dead to us. Why not make a command like: "/synch Prrsha 20" to reduce my level to 20. Then my friends can synch to me and we can have a blast reliving old zones the way the were intended. A primary example for this is CoP areas. I'd love to just beat CoP the old way with my friends for the hell of it, if only for the challenge and satisfaction of doing so.
