Hi, I have been playing FFXI since the American PC release and I would have to say I have enjoyed my time, but things have started to get boring.
You do the same thing day after day. You group with the same type of people and kill the same monsters for hours upon hours.
Everyone with the same job/level as you is wearing the exact same armor as you, and really there isn't much armor/weapons to choose from.
You cant solo worth crap. Once you get to level 14 its almost impossible to solo unless you are a Beast Master, and really I love soloing with my WAR/NIN, but its definatly not worth it. I get a whopping 50 (estimate) exp before I have to sit and rest for 5 minutes.
And there is no end game, yes you can fight NMs with huge alliances, to get better items, just so you can do the same thing again and again.
I just dont see the point in spending hours upon hours doing the same thing over and over just so you can continue to do the same things over and over until the end of time.
My sisters best friend plays DAoC and I was recently taling to him and how he explains it, it sounds like DAoC is tons of fun.
You can dye your armor, so even if you are wearing the same armor as the guy next to you, you can still look different.
It is possible to solo. Of course you wont get as good of exp as in a group, but (from what I hear) you can still get decent exp.
There are tons of different races and classes to choose from, and some are a slight mixture of a couple, so its a lot easier to pick a class that you really like.
RvR sounds awesome, taking over keeps, fighting wars, something FFXI is completely missing.
My question is, do you think this is a game worth playing?
Considering I was able to stick with FFXI for what, 4, 5 moths (I dont even really remember when the hell it came out, I've just been playing too long) do you think I could get some good game play out of DAoC, or would I probibly get bored with it within a month of purchase?
Also, please add any good or bad things you would like to say about the game, because its always easy to sell a game when you make it sound like there are no bad points, but I know every game has them.
Your help/advice/feelings are greatly appreciated, and I give an early "Thank You" for your help =)
