A question we all wish had one simple answer but then that's what makes RVR fun... sometimes. I'm still learning RVR but it took me a while to realise my 50 friar is better off hanging back and healing rather than jumping into the fray. It sucks carrying a staff too, you're often the target of an assist train of 4 tanks...
Well, there's also some exclusively RVR guilds, you'll find them on each server, just look up the guilds on www.camelotherald.com for your particular server. RVR guilds take it seriously. You won't be running out into emain without having a balanced group, but then you have to be able to join the guild in the fist place, and they might want you to be RR3 or higher in some instances. Also having your MLs from TOA done is a help in RVR.
Just to conclude, i've been in some good grps in emain and also DF and there's no hard and fast rule, but in emain or frontiers having a mins for speed, a sorc for mez (mins also has mez so it's a nice way to double up on mezzing capablities), 2 tanks (merc or arms) and a pally to keep their end up, and then at least one cleric with the remaining a friar to heal or another caster.
Hope it's a helpful post i'm stuck in the philippines here without my PC and been unable to play for over a month. Hope to get back online soon,
