Several questions related to Spellcrafting. How do find out your toons maximum stats so you don't waste gems. When you increase skills with gems or use Focus gems what does that do. If you increase a skill do you get to use the spells of this higher level? Specific to focus can inc up to 50. Say you use a focus gem for 50 in mana can you then use all the mana spells? I hope you understand what I'm asking.

As far as skills (Magical Bonus: Mana 5 for instance) from my understanding it raises the level of the caster for purposes of resists and damage. I know for sure it does not give you access to any additional spells.

Focus (Focus Mana 49 for instance) is different and as far as I know can only be put on a staff [not positive about that]. Focus lowers the power cost of spells in the line of spells that it covers up to the level of the focus.

how does spell crafting, and alchemy work on drops(NPC created) items. Can a focus gem be imbued? Can a charge or effect from alchemist be placed on NPC items? I know most SC items are for player made only...I'm a 513 alchemist about to start charges and trying to figure out "ground rules".
