Anyone wanna help?Follow

Hey guys... I have been playing DAoC for abouta year now since a friend of my husbands decided to get me hooked on this extremely addictive "drug" :D Anyway, I can't seem to get very far on any characters because I get to about 7th-10th level and just can't get very good xp after that. I'd really like to play with a group, but it just seems like everytime I check, there is no one on that wants my class in with them. I'd be willing to play any non-pvp servers, if anyone has a steady group/guild that wouldn't mind helping me out a little. Any suggestions?

Side note: I'd prefer Midgard, as thats the realm I "grew up" in. But am willing to relocate if thats best.

Dezrin,

I hear your pain; it stinks when you can't find anyone to really play with. My first question is, what classes do you play? Some classes aren't really sought for groups, and that may be the root of some of your problems.

As for not being able to get past level 10, you should really do kill tasks (especially if you're only option is to solo). And as a matter of fact, I think kill tasks are easiest in Midgard (if you have SI). There are 4 named guards that you can get kill tasks from (2 on the bridge, 2 at the tower), simply walk up to them and /s Task. This is the best way IMHO to get exp, and you get some decent coin as well.

Lastly, I'm forming an all military member/veteran guild on Albion/Nimue, so if you've ever served or are currently serving, let me know and we'll get you in.

Let me know if you need any more advice!

Hay, thanks for replying. I normally play healers or shamen (or would that be shawomen) hmmm ...

Anyway, I've been doing kill tasks in Aegir (Sp) it's just taking forever. I've never served before, but the group sounds like a great idea! Sorry I can't join that one.

I found the best way to pick up levels is to group. But you aready know that. What works for me is to hang around the enterance of whichever dungeon is best for my level. Even when there seems to be no one flaged as looking for a group you will have better chances of finding one. I have yet to wait more then 10-20 minutes at the entrance of a dugeon. Wile waiting i just pull solo monsters and clip them.
Hope this helps

If you are having problem leveling it is probably because you are restaining yourself to Healing classes (healer and shamen). I would reccomend making a toon who can hold their own, rather then relying on others to provide the kills for you. If you like midguard there are multiple options. If you like mordred a Bond Dancer or a spirt master would be ideal. The spirt master has potential in pvp because of their awsome crowd control, and a Bone Dancer is great for obvious reasons (instant life tap and multiple healing pets). However If you are willing to change realms, its an entirely different question. For instance, If you are on mordred, and you would like an excellent albion pvp killer, a sorcerer is an ideal choice. But there is also the Necromancer. A necromancer is undoubtedlye THE best exper in the game. If you make a pvp weak toon (such as a necro) I would also highly reccomend switching to Alb Merlin. Out of any realm of any server, Alb Merlin is easily the most populated. If you made an Alb Merlin toon you would never have trouble finding exp groups, and you always on the winning side of the Battle grounds. If you have any more questions you can post another message or email me at snooze1128@hotmail.com

ok, this is what's up... if ya wanna get into a group, to find the player's around your level (we'll say 12 for example) just type
/who 10 14 that will give ya a nice list of people online from levels 10 to 14 to group with so you can learn your job for that peticular class. if ya have questions about how a peticular class is run, either in a group, or solo... type
/who space "class you are playing" that will give a list of people online (along with their level) then you just have to chose a high level person and ask them. most importantly though, play what you are interested in. if ya like that healer keep it, cause lord know's we need more of em.

hmmm that didn't come out real clear, so i'll clarify....

/who 10 14 give's a list of people you can contact to join someone's group, or possibly to start your own group.

/who healer give's a list of all the healer's online at the time the command is typed, reguardless of level. usually the higher the level person you ask, the better the answer will be.

hope this helps. :)

footnote... i'm in iraq, so it's likely you wont find me for a few months yet. i'll answer any question, i have knowledge of.

easy class to level, roll a necro or spiritmaster. you wont need grps. but /who 10 will show u who is level 10, /who 30 will do the same except for 30, get it?

I am also currently looking for a guild to join. I can hardly find any players sometimes on DAOC to party with.
Here are my stats:

Syphox
Champion 16
Percival

If anyone wants to party up or invite me to a guild(and you know you do!) just send me a tell. Thanks a bunch!

Sounds like you're on an underpopulated server/realm. Midgard tends to suffer the most across all servers. All is not lost, however. There are several ways to mitigate the problems you are having.

First, join a guild. Look around (do a /who <zone>) and see what guilds are active at the times you are online. Most guilds aren't elitist in DAOC, so it should be a simple matter to get into one. Your guild members will usually help you with material things as well as give you good advice on how to specialize your characters.

Kill tasks are usually good fodder to level with and they also point you to areas that teem with mobs that should be blue and yellow to you.

As has already been suggested, try going to the low level dungeon in your realm and hanging around outside or just inside the entrance. There should be some blue/yellow mobs around to kill while you wait. People are more apt to accept a healer in a dungeon so they can travel deeper with less risk. If you like PvP, hang around the battlegrounds for your level. Everyone needs help in the battlegrounds. You'll not only accumulate experience, but realm points too.

Primary healers of each realm are very difficult to level through the early stages. Part of the reason is because of the lack of new characters entering the game. Because of this lack, lots of players choose good soloing classes, so they don't need healers through the early levels. To make matters worse, the Midgard Healer and Shaman classes cannot specialize in a weapon so their melee skills will always be subpar. Having only 1 spec point per level makes it even more difficult for them to excel in their damage line of spells. In short, if you want to play a healing class effectively solo, don't go Midgard. Try the Warden in Hibernia or the Friar in Albion. Both get to train in their weapons. Both of them are secondary healers. The primary healers can't train their weapons.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Depends, unbuffed, maybe. Definatley the best chain puller. An anamist is by far the best pler/leveler if you have a bot w/ fop. You can seriously pl people 50 in 1 day.
