RVR - unbalanced , dull and pointlessFollow

There needs to be some balance in RVR - and the only way you will get it is to make mezmerize spells not work on players , and cut bard speed to half what it is now, and nerf stealth in RVR.

At the moment RVR consists of full groups with bard classes running round wiping everyone in the zone.

With a 50 ranger with 99-100% quality spell crafted equipment its impossible for me to kill anyone except enemy archers in the frontiers now solo.

They have mez = they win automatically.

They have engage = they win automatically.

They are assassin class = they can see me but not the other way round after my first shot of the day (lose camo).

And don't tell me to switch class - I am not wasting my time levelling another character to 50 - one takes long enough and is mind-numbingly dull enough. Nor do I want to play a different class - I like archer classes.

At the moment there is no class balance, its almost impossible to get an RVR group for more than 10 mins if you're not a tank,a bard or a healer/buffer/rezzer and its impossible to solo.

If it doesnt change Camelot will keep on losing players.

No I won't 'quit whining' (it has one 'n' btw - try buying a dictionary if you have trouble with spelling). If you're going to reply make a real point - don't throw dumb insults.

Mez makes RVR dull as hell. 9 times out of 10 non-stealthers dont want stealthers in their RVR group - and in a stealther group no-one has spells to counter-act mez.

There is meant to be class balance. There is zero class balance between classes with mez and classes without it.

I have mixed feelings on this, as I also have a level 39 hunter. Ever since I've played him, he's gimp. Fact of life, and nothing I can do about it. So I don't play him. He's too slow and only good for playing the "long distance" game. Yawn.

However, I chose to play him, and the game hasn't changed his "gimpedness" over the last year.... he's always been this way. I can only be responsible for choosing to roll a hunter.

I don't have a solution for you.... just wanted to express my agreement with you. The only thing I like about the archer classes is that they are easy RP's for my Shadowblade.

I'm with anyway, 41 eldritch and i can't do **** w/o being 1 shotted by something. Once I get one spell off, an enemy fire wizzie 1 shots me, 1k+ dmg, so fun. or an inf sneaks up on me (they always go for casters first) and 1 shots me. The realms are unbalanced, and if you don't think so, look at Gawaine, people know Albion is stronger. Hibernia is 20% of the population of the server, have you ever done RvR when you're outnumbered 3 to 1 AND they have stronger classes than you? I've stunned people, got 3 shots off, stun wears off they get 1 shot and kill me. It's a joke.


(yes i'm not lvl 50 and yes I don't have a million artis from ToA, but you shouldn't need those to do decently in RvR)

I know, you ranged attack people have it so rough. Let me give you rvr from an armsman perspective. If you decide to solo you may do well if you actually find another soloing player confident enough to fight you, which proabably won't happen. If you do find a soloing player confident enough to fight you it is probably an overpowered ******* bonedancer. However, what will most likely happen is you will run into a group of enemies, at which point you will be mezzed and poisoned, then shot with about 500 fireballs/arrows and probably finished off by some fribolg/troll chronie.

So obviously grouping is the answer! So you join your group and head off to battle with a few other groups. Your group will then meet an enemy group of roughly the same size and stop about 80 feet from it to exchange spells and arrows. Now if, heaven forbid, you actually try to attack the other group in melee you will be mezzed and poisoned, then shot with about 500 fireballs/arrows and probably finished off by some fribolg/troll chronie. So you just have to sit around with your **** in your hand waiting for your team to get the upper hand. When your spellcasters finally route the enemy with some sort of advantage, you can then charge in and finish off the fleeing/mezzed opponents that are clearly already defeated (not that you had anything to do with it).

If that doesn't happen then the reverse will, where you have the option to either run or try in futility to defend your position, at which point you will be mezzed and poisoned, then shot with about 500 fireballs/arrows and probably finished off by some fribolg/troll chronie.

Quit your ******* ******** you dumb ***. First off, its NF thats the only problem w/ daoc. Thats all, you wouldnt see archers if it werent for nf. And spec 50 shield tank can block alot of the arrows shot if he has nice dex. SC or not. And if you have a problem with mez, buy purge. But to those of you who get 1 shotted by rangers, scouts, or hunters- you wanna know what your problem is why u get pwned by em? One, you wear cloth armor. Two. You dont have much hp at all, and at lvl 50 its easy to cap all your stats since we have toa now. Including dex, int, constitution, empathy, or charisma if u mez. Its not all that hard. My advice to you is if your gonna ***** about any classes being nerfed, make it the BD and the reaver. Leviathon needs nerf really bad. Post this on the VN boards, maybe mythic will respond to it. Thats the only board they do respond to. Now go farm and buy sum nice gear so you dont get pwned by archers all the time. Plus every realm has PBT. which is a disadvantage to archers, except penetrate bubble and rapid fire. QQ more.
