An idea on Bladeturns....Follow

#1 Aug 23 2004 at 9:48 PM Rating: Decent
Ive been playing DAoC since release and in that time have played almost every Albion class there is. My primaries are a 50 Scout and a 50 cab.

Now as a Scout ive noticed that most casters dont notice im shooting them until my 2nd shot (the 1st being stopped by the BT) and sometimes, by then, its to late.

As a caster (my cabalist) in RvR I also almost always fail to notice when someones shooting at me in some form until the 2nd shot lands. ESPECIALLY now with NF and the RA system they have the fonts which everyone seems to love using en-mass. So these, plus group buffs, enemy spells, friendly spells, ect. I dont notice the BT icon dissapearing. Now it can be argued that yes, it reports when your getting attacked. But if there is any combat/death going on in the emediate realm its easy to miss the report.

So what I suggest is this: Provide some form of graphic showing that your BT has been popped. Hell, show a bubble around the caster accually popping. Maybe add a popping sound to it. Something that makes it obvious that, yes, you are getting attacked and you'd better do something about it.

Just a though. I appologize if this has been discussed before.

No, but I like your thinking. Im a wizard, and I ALWAYS have this problem. Your in the middle of NF, I dont usually notice the first hit, or the second if I have a pali with me.. but that third hit is a *****! It would be nice if there were some kind of sound to let me know that my dumbass is being shot and I should move.

It doesnt have to be EXACTLY what I describe. It could be any graphic/sound, so long as there is SOMETHING that indicates that your BT has popped other then the icon dissapearing and a brief easily missed notice. Something eye catching.

Well IMO I don't think they should...bladeturn is good enough as it is man and that would just be hurting scouts in your realm too. Because all the time bladeturn stops my shot specially at low levels and if they know their bladeturn gets popped than theyll just be able to run away and sometimes they dont know and i get the crit off with my sec shot. Most of the time they dont notice me shooting them so it helps but if say there was a sound it'd almost be impossible to kill casters sometimes because once they realize they could just run out of range =] - this doesnt really obtain to high level because we get penentrate BT. So all I got to say is stay on more guard than pay attention more closely and youll be fine!
