It depends on what sort of VW you want to play. A Firby would be better as a Scythe wielder, but a slyvan would be better as a caster-VW.
I personally prefer slyvan types as they seem more 'woody'.

I would go with a Sylvan because they are smaller and you don't stand out as much on the battlefield.
