A stupid question: Does the level of an item such as jewel, necklace or ring matter? The reason I ask is that on my infiltrator I have a kick *** jewel that is a level 30 item. It's got good bonuses like stealth, etc. But I'm wondering when I get to level 50, is it less effective to me? Or if the bonus on my necklace is +5 thrust, but the item level is say 40, will it be less effective when I'm fighing a level 50 in rvr? I wouldn't think that it would matter, but want to check.

It won't be less effective (though if it is to powerful for you- red or grape- it will wear out faster).

That being said, there is a good chance that there is a better equivilent out there for it. Item level affects imbue points, so higher level and higher quality items will have more/larger bonuses on them.

Thx, I knew that the higher the level item you have generally has higher utility but I didn't know if the level per se mattered.

Always remember that as long as the jewelry does not have any + to skills on it (i.e. stealth, mind, staff etc), it will always provide you it's full benefit, no matter what con it is.

For example, if your ring has +28 dexterity, +20 hps, and +5% heat resists, even at 70% condition it will still give u those benefits. So don't worry about repairing. The only benefits you lose when an item hits 70% con is + to skills.
