Just a few days ago my mentor, former GM and best friend in-game told me that he had an important announcement that had to be done on /as, and I agreed to stay on til afterwards. Well, fully in /as chat his main toon proposed, formally, his request to take my toon's hand in marriage. Cmpletely out of the blue. My toon accepted his proposal (I was grnning and blushing like you wouldnt beleve). We've set the date for March 20.
Has anybody either been married or attended a DAOC wedding? I had a lot of questions for Mythic (can invitations be created that you could "use) and open with the information? The wedding merchant was pretty vague. Can we use the church, the roundtable room, the abby, the great outdoors? One of the Atlantis havens? Do we need reservations of any kind? Do you get the license in advance, and how long is it good for? We're expecting a fair turnout at this event (3oo+), as we're now in separate guilds with separate, fairly large, alliance groups.
There are several ceremonies which the merchant touches on. Is there a template for the eremony, and can we combine two (we like the wine ritual, followed by the pageantry of the swords).
IMPORTANT: Can screenshots be taken of the arrival of we and our guests, the ceremony itself, and the ensuing festivities? Of course, my DAOC intended and I would like a visual record of our event, once-ina-lifetime thing and all; but we're certain that many of our friends, both on and off the game, would like to be able to see them.
If you have attended a DAOC wedding, or even better if your toon got married in the game, please respond as soon as possible with any insight you can give, it would be most appreciated. The date is fast approaching and I don't even know if there's just a set of responses we're supposed to give, or if we're to create our own.
We want this to be a truly memorable affair both for ourselves and our game family/friends. Thanks for your help!
