Enchanter and damageFollow

#1 May 12 2005 at 2:11 PM Rating: Decent
Hi people,
I'm quite new to the game and recently I have been playing a new toon, an Enchanter (currently lvl 23). There are some things I can't understand.

I've tried out 2 staves: the 1st one: Intel +9, Light & Mana +14, and the 2nd one: Intel +19, Light / Mana / Ench +14. What was really strange I noticed no change in Stats neither in Specializations whatsoever! Moreover, when I put away both staves, and was bare-handed only WeapSkills and WeapDmg (as Attributes) showed zeros.

So my basic question is, how can I find out the magical damage I'm dealing out and can it be enhanced with anything?

Take care,
Aelf

You should see a difference in the intel at least--if you hold your mouse over where int is listed on your character sheet in game you should get a little popup that says your bonuses (ie base int 30 +9 from items etc) As for the Light/mana 14 bonus thats a focus bonus for the purpose of reducing the power your spells casts and doesn't show up on your character sheet anywhere :)

You might have more Intel than is allowed from item bonuses that is...like HinuraRizingsun said scroll over it on the attributes page and it will bring up a box telling you what your x intel out of y intell is and if you are over cap..you really cant tell your magic damage just have to see what it is when you nuke someone and get a feel for it...to increase your damage try getting some + to skills also you can go to the battle grounds and get some realm abilities like mastery of magery and augmented acuity these will raise your damage

the light and mana and enchant bonuses at leas used* to show up as +xx on your line spec tab not on the main char stat sheet. your int will go up but there are level based caps on how much +stat you can get at one time. so I would guess taht you already have max for lv 23 plus to int and so the ten extra on your better staff is not usefull.

suggestion: if that's the case, use the lesser staff for now to wear it out while you level and once you are a bit bigger you will have high stat bonus caps and can use the better staff.
