Can anyone giv me the best spec for a dominating armsman in thid? right now im 20 pole 19 crush and 3 parry, was just wondering if there is anything better.
I first toon I had was an Arms, and I have over 35 days of "play" time so I kind of know what I'm talking about.
First, keep in mind that rvr is a caster/stealther game. As a tank you are there for protection and support, to take some shots so your casters don't and to take out the enemy's casters as soon as possible. What I'm getting at is that if you think having a "killer" spec means your going to be Rambo, try another toon lol. It aint' gonna happen.
At level 20, if you want to hit the hardest with one shot (lol like my arms, he's full pole) then I'd go with:
Pole: 20 For max damage.
Slash: 14 Needs to be about 2/3 of your pole to limit the variance of your damage output.
Shields 13 I know your full pole for max damage, but if you run around in rvr without a shield you will die quick, and your group will also die fast.
This is what I’d call the offensive-RVR poleman. You’re all offense for max damage, but still have the shield to block arrows and bolts, plus protect the real players in rvr, your group’s casters lol.
So what I do is run around in rvr with my shield, protecting the clerics and casters, then when I’m close to an enemy caster, wipe out the pole and go to work. And yes, if you get a caster or healer one-on-one, you’ll have np 2 shot killing them. One of the funniest things was in rvr when I ran around the corner of a keep and found 3 casters waiting there for some reason…I pulled out the pole and made quick work of them lol.
Lastly, get your armor sc’d and proc’d. To really be effective, you need max resist, especially since if your going up against a caster one-on-one, he’ll hit you 2 or 3 times before you can reach him.

ok, this is the spec i found that was good, i will give you a 20 spec, then a 50.
20 spec:
20 2h/polearm
10 slash/crush/thrust
3 parry, w/ MoP, or MoPain
16 Shield
50 spec.(only if you go slash)
50 2h/polearm
29 slash
42 shield
25 parry
9 crossbow
20 spec:
20 2h/polearm
10 slash/crush/thrust
3 parry, w/ MoP, or MoPain
16 Shield
50 spec.(only if you go slash)

Killer Arms Spec in thid hmm well first get a set of sced gear preferably level 30 stuff, second make sure you are level 24, and last go full spec crush rest in shield. Pole is not the way to go in thid. With crush you can stun anyone with 2 hits, by the time they get out of stun they be dead, or runnin real slow. Trust me you won't be disappointed. Besides s/s is alot easier to level to 24 than pole.

Issues you'll come across as to a thid spec have to do with... are you buffed? with slow attack times at lower levels, it's best to have a faster attacking weapon because you're more likely to fumble or miss. I'd go with a faster attacking weapon, which rules out polearms... However, with a bot, polearm is a great idea and I support it wholeheartedly.
mainweapon needs to be at least 2/3rds of level, if you're going any kinda defense on a fully offensive toon, I'd go parry and polearm... with just enough shield to engage a target with... and 2/3rds weapon to backup the polearm.
I don't mean to argue with steven, he's got the formulas to back it up I'm sure, but this is a matter of playstyle and I don't prefer to miss on low level bg's, I'd go 1 handed weapon/shield if I do NOT have a bot, and polearm/2ndary attack + parry if I did have a bot.

Rogule is right for the above question...as is almost always right. Make sure your play style fits the way you spec out your toon.
