Vampire Epic Quest 5Follow

I am a level 27 vampire and wanted to know if anyone could help me figuring out this dilemma i am in. I need to find Brigit's assassin and it tells me that he was seen heading south from the south west tower in the valley of Bri Lieth. I can never seem to find him and i cannot figure out how to get the detector to function. Any help would be kewl.

I found the assassin simply by running around in the grove of trees.. By the tower. Itpopped right away for me without having to use the item. I had a friend with the ame problem i went out and it popped as soon as i got there.
