Hi everyone

I am new to the game-i just have a level 27 Scout-and today i have come across a website that offered the possibility to use real money to get in-game money....! Now i don´t know what the general feeling is about this, but i am confident that it must be total rejection...Isn´t it so? What is your opinion?

This is how I look at it, yes it is probably against Mythic’s rules and people probably frown on it BUT....and that’s a big but....I look at like this, if YOU get enjoyment out of it do it! It doesn't affect me or anyone else dramatically. Sure it may put more money into the economy but it doesn't seem to be such a huge problem. DAOC is different in the sense that people more try to help each other due to the realm configuration than ***** each other like the free-for-all that is EQ.

Personally, I've "ebayed" stuff on EQ but these were items that you would either, A) Have to belong to an uber guild to ever dream of getting OR, B) be so lucky with a roll that you have a better chance of winning the lotto. And I LOVED my items and the plat I got took away soooo much of the grind that it was actually nice not to be poor all the time and enabled me to focus on other things...Like having fun when I played without a dark cloud following me around every where.

But as I said, this game is very different. People are very cool and helpful. Mythic is pretty good with the drops and there seems to be plenty to go around.

So in the end, do what makes YOU get the most enjoyment out of the game...After all, that’s what you play/pay for. And about what others think...Did they buy your copy of the game and do they pay for your subscription fees????? Exactly.

Just be mindful of Mythic’s rules and understand and accept the consequences (if any) if you are caught.

Why the hell are people so lazy that they can't play a video game. It doesn't make sense, do the work, don't buy things with RL money, buy things with the game money you earn playing the game.

This is a phenomenon that many people feel is destroying MMORPGS. Game pimps like IGE sell plat and accounts for every major game, filling each of them with inexperienced f*c&tards that don't know their class, and asshat twinks that haven't a clue what the value thier gear is.

Do everyone a favor, and don't feed the maggots.

IMO, it simply denies the sense of playing. What's the feeling of completion when you can start out as rich as possible or as well-equipped as you can imagine? There's not much you can strive for, then. I don't mind twinkering my own low lvl toons with the stuff I found/bought earlier. But I hate others buffing their toons with some help from outside the game. And I'm not jealous - it's not fair and it's against the idea of a just gameplay.

I dont see what the big deal is. Personally, I wouldnt do it, but if someone else wants to buy 100 plat and get themselves gear, good for them. They are doing what they can to have the best playing experience. I wouldnt like that myself, i like the satisfaction of killing things to get money, or doing quests to get money. It makes me feel like my time was used well.
