When i log in to a certain character....the whole DAOC just shutsdown. Is there any reason for this could i fix it or do i have to DELETE THE CHARACTER WHICH I DO NOT WANT TO DO...So any good helpful ideas to deal with this problem will be greatly gradifided..of how ever you spell it.
If this just started happening yesterday, it could be because of your UI.
Are you using a custom UI? If so, try logging onto the main start up screen (don't use the quick login feature, type No thanks on character name). Then, select the SI or ToA skin instead of your Custom skin.
this should fix it and you should be able to log in. I know a couple of UI's were causing crash problems.
something that happens to me once in a while is I will log in a Catacombs area, and then I try to log in using the ToA client (the one I usually use because it has less lag). this will cause a crash also.
If you can log into a certain character, and not another, then perhaps the character you can not log into is in a bad spot (like they rearranged geography and now you are trying to log into middle of building, or in the case of returning people from years ago, their toon is logged in Old Frontiers which no longer even exists. If this is case, you can log into another character and type /appeal My <insert name> toon can not log in and may be stuck,can you take him to a safe spot so that I can try to log in on him/her. A CSR should contact you shortly to let you know situation.
That is just 3 things off the top of my head that I can think of that could cause a crash.
