Noob questions, please be gentle...Follow

Hello all, I started playing DAOC about 2 weeks ago and so far I really like it. I have a 30 Iconnu Cabalist on Merlin and literally each session I learn something new, but I have a few questions.

I left the starting guild to help someone start up a new guild, and I thought I was doing them a favor, but after 10 days of me being the only person in the guild online I left. Is there a way to get back into the noobie guild? If not, any recommendations for a family style guild?

How do I sell to and buy stuff from other players? Yes, I figured out the regular NPC merchants pretty early :) Is there any facilities for this like in EQ1, EQ2 or WoW? I have some slots I want to upgrade and the regular cloth stuff aint cutting it.

Any help would be immensly appreciated, I am mainly concerned about getting into a guild though.

Thank you,

Norru

In this game, an account can only own one house. A way around this is to form a guild, and have the house be a guildhouse. It is a way to own a second house..you can actually own as many houses as you can be guild leader this way. This late in the game, generally any guild formed will not be a guild that would a) want you, because they are a gank guild, or b) a newb guild that will either be dead or not very productive. There was no way for you to find that out, but you will find a real guild soon enough. I don't believe you can get back into the startin guild. Just try asking around. Someone will invite you. Have you joined anyone's group? Casually ask if their guild is recruiting. Check VN boards also.

Sort of leading into your second question, housing is where you buy and sell stuff. You can put a consignment merchant on your house, and that way, anyone can check your stuff out on the Market Explorers (located at housing entrance).
Not sure of the other systems, but this system works well, and easy to use.

Before I joined a new guild I would like to get to know how many there are in it, what daily turn up is, if they're more of PvE or RvR, and what they can do for a new player. A guild's role is to support each other. It's true DAoC isn't as populated nowadays as it was in the past but there are still guilds that are very active, so be sure to check a guild's status on camelotherald.com. This way you won't end up as the only player in one. :-)

I'm sure that by now you have noticed some guilds' names on your server. If there's one you can see more often ask a person if they're recruiting - you may be lucky :-)

Take care,
