Used to play this gaem about 4 1/2 years ago... way way way back when darkness falls had just came out... I was a 50 Elf NS on igraine with RR3.2... Sorry just having a fit of nostalgia... With all the content and changes in this game, I bet it's completely different from the DAOC of 4 years ago. Most likely hardly worth the time to start over from lvl 1. Especially with the servers as small as they are now... I remember when you could join an RVR Zerg on igraine at anytime haha, those were some of the funnest time I ever had on an MMO! Now from what I hear RVR has gotten very slow... Sometimes I completely regret closing my account when I joined the marines :/

much true, times have changed, things too ;)
The games is more complex now, and at the other hand a lot of things are easier now.
In fact it's easier now to "just play" the game, and not need to do lot of things around, until playing what you want.
At the time you remember it was easy to build "the perfect" template, today it isn't possible anymore, you can make a real good temp on a lot different ways.

There is housing, many more horse routes, complete class makeovers, and I don't even know where to begin for RvR battles. Tierred frontier zones, destructible castles, etc.
If you rememeber anything about previous zones you can almost throw away what you know and start fresh. Which is a good thing, because it'll be, well, fresh :).
MasterofMind is true with much of the complexity and balancing for classes. What were you thinking of creating for a character? Anything is pretty good, depending upon what you're hoping to do in the game. Crafting is much more viable now as well.

I too remember crowds of people at PK bridge and you could easily pick up an 8 man group anytime and go to Salisbury plains...
Because I have been around forever I can always get a group...play in lab a lot these days...the pve is good...the rvr is there.
What I do find that has happened though...and I think it is negative...is that it has become cliquey...
I will now and again bring in a 50 that I dont normally play and try and group with the people I normally play with, they dont know who I am, and it is hard.
So yes..to start again now from the beginning..would be long and hard.

Yes i too used to play a long way back i left when toa came out. A lot has changed and imo for the better it's just a shame the player base is lacking
