thats my mouse, most comfortable mouse i've ever had, has a palm adjustment and weights too, and lots of buttons that you can program :)

The bigger difference you'll notice is between membrane and mechanical keyboards.

Membrane keyboards have a rubber mat under the keys that fire off the keystrokes, they're generally pretty quiet and for the most part fairly popular among PC users.

Mechanical keyboards use physical switches under each key and are fairly noisy since they make a definite click when you press them. More favored by enthusiasts and gamers. Notable manufacturers of mechanical boards are Razer (Black Widow series) and Steelseries. I've heard good things about both.

Overall I'm pretty happy with it but I'm really starting to miss the 10 key as a programmer. I might look into getting a Black Widow Ultimate, I wish I could find someone to trade with

I use the most basic of mouse and keyboards because meh... But I am jealous of my friends keyboard with build in Ventrilo LED readout to tell him who is talking on vent.

I will admit that some of these companies are getting a little weird with their keyboards and mice. However, I've not actually used this product, so I can't actually speak about it's functionality.

I destroy keyboards so I'm hesitant to spend a lot of money on them.

Comfortable, does all I need it to do, has media center controls and an instant calculator button, and if I spill a drink on it I'm only out $20.

Im partial to the mechanical keyboards myself. They just feel more responsive, and are actually pretty fun to type on.

I use this one: http://www.daskeyboard.com/model-s-professional/ because I wanted a good mechanical keyboard, but didn't like the "l33t gamer" look of Razer products. If you have roommates that might be annoyed by a loud keyboard like this, then you can get the "silent" model which uses Cherry MX Brown switches instead of the Cherry MX Blues, but IMO the Blues are a much better typing experience. If you type code, are a writer, or just do a lot of typing, do yourself a favor and get a mechanical keyboard.

You can also customize a lot of these mechanical keyboards that use cherry switches with custom key caps if you want. If you do video editing, you might color code the keys to highlight things like playback controls or other shortcuts. Gamers usually color code the WASD keys.

There's no difference other than it looking cool for whomever sees it (Which will most likely be no one if you are my dumb friend that buys the most expensive of everything for his computer. Much like the 200+ dollar headset he bought that if you voice chat with him you can hear a dog fart in the next apartment not to mention all the audio from his side of a game in your headset. >.>). He actually has that first one and while it's nifty it is terribly hard to get used to, at least for me coming from compact keyboards. Plus you better get used to using the mouse to move like the pros or those macro buttons on the left side will surely go to waste. In games like SWTOR and WoW even if you use the mouse to move most of the time it's still nice to use W A S D to move in some situations.

Edit: Plus the Caps Lock and Tab keys are the same size and while this might not seem like a big deal I found myself hitting the wrong keys all the time on the left side of the board. There was something about the layout that just went against typical QWERTY keyboards and I didn't like it. But I suppose it is something one could get used to after enough time.

This is the keyboard I just recently bought for my new gaming rig and I love it. Coming from compact keyboards with my laptop and before that the logitech ps2/keyboard combo for FFXI it is a great improvement. A full sized keyboard with a compact feel. The buttons are low to the board and smooth, plus it's relatively quiet. It may be wireless but I believe they have wired versions as well and they have keyboard/mouse combos you can get. My only beef with it is that the left ALT is a bit too far to the left for comfortable League of Legends play at times.

I guess it just depends on how much you are willing to spend. I would go to an electronics store and play with some keyboards and decide which you like the feel of best. All the LEDs in the world aren't gonna make much of a difference if you don't like the feel of the keyboard. Another friend of mine happened to get this keyboard for his new gaming PC a year ago and I tried and loved it.

Woah! They look weird lol guess ud get used to it easy enough though

My mom for some weird reason has a trackball. I hate using her computer, or worse, fixing her computer.

I used to use one at work quite a bit, loved it but it ended up breaking so I'm stuck with a regular Logitech mouse at work and a Naga at home. Love the Naga actually, but I kinda want to try out the Ourobouros.
