I really want a Dark Knight job. And I'm not aiming at the FFXI type of DRK (basicly warrior with a couple usefull spells), I want the "I'll eat your soul and use it to attack you" Dark Knight.

Can even immagine Dark Knight as a tank job healing itself from drain-type of attacks and brute force to hold hate.

Ninja. Love their style of tanking and the shadow spells they use. And who doesn't love dual wielding?

Lots of hype around the ninja job, so it'll eventually make an appearance.

I highly doubt that shadows will come back in this game. At least not like how we knew them in XI. They'd completely break balance and trivialize a lot of defensive stats.

Hmm...Musketeer might actually be a fun class. What would its job be though?

I think musketeer could turn into Gunner which could kind of be like ranger. Usually Gunners have elemental bullets kind of like corsair but also bullets that can enfeeble. Just slap on something that makes them more of a strait DD instead of barrage maybe a scatter shot which is AOE maybe rapid fire and charge to boost their ranged damage. In other FFs some characters use guns anyway and are categorized as ranger types. Vincent, Irvine and even Wakka is considered a ranger type. Just a different name.

I would want a Magic Sword user like Cid Orlandu, Agrias, Beowullf from tactics. The class version would special in multiple but weaker fields of the magic. Where as the job would specialize in one or two magics but much more powerful.

Fencer > Red Mage and have Red Mage function like Sorcerer.

More of a front-line combat mage less of a substitute healer like it got shallowed into in FFXI.

Honestly if they made Paladin have a few "Holy Sword" abilities similar to Agrias I think I would cream myself O_O Short to Mid range sword WS that dealt holy dmg with an additional effect. Nerdgasm just happened....I think maybe I also "ship my pants" with kmart >_>

Engineer/ Cannoneer might be pretty interesting. COuld be released with chemist and use similar mechanics. Throwing bombs and setting down explosives would be interesting.

Yeah it would be kinda fun to have the players make the mob step in the stupid rather than the other way around. Traps and mines and bombs and stuff.

It would be a great kiting class idea. from some of the vids of FFXIV I've seen it seems like a lot of people that played archer really liked that concept.

Engineer in GW2 and hunter in lotro come to mind. Both classes have traps/mines/etc that mobs can run through, and yes, it actually is extremely fun. They were some of my favorite classes because it really added another element of strategy. For instance, in lotro hunter had a trap that would snare a mob. So basically, you could pull a group, snare one, slow the other as it got to you, then just unload on the others. By the time you beat them, the snared mob would release and you could finish it off. It was lots of fun.

Ahhhh. Very cool. I have never played either of those. But yeah that's exactly what I was thinking

If they could implement some form of a GunScythe job inspired from Red from RWBY I'd be all over it.

My Thoughts
The job can switch between two modes up close high damage dealer and they have a special skill that resets their enmity and launches them to back line. Once in the back line they switch to the gun mode.

Jayce WUT?! In all seriousness though, this is something that they could probably pull off. With the way some of those relic weapons change looks when you unsheathe them it seems like they could have the capabilities to animate such a weapon.

Someone should notify SE immediately. I want it!

Necromancer. Ability to raise mobs after death, but before they despawn, and fight for you for an alloted period of time. Additional abilities that buff said creatures, or the ability to summon additional minions to fight alongside the creature you just raised, like little imps or skeletons, along with a few "drain"-type black magic spells?

/lust

I win. :D

Great animation! Reminds me a lot of the Gunlance from Monster Hunter. Of course we already have a lance in game, so Gunscythe could work well :) Id be tempted to combine it with something else though, so as to leave Scythe strictly for Dark Knights.

I believe it's been mentioned in this thread, but I would also love Samurai to take a darker path like in the Onimusha games. I'll be pretty much focusing on crafting until we get an announcement that Samurai is implemented. If/when it's in, I'm going full speed ahead to do whatever I need to do to unlock it. I'm hoping the job can be useful in the same way it was in XI pre-TP burns, when skillchains actually mattered. Being able to contribute to the party with strategic damage or abilities, like a selfless DD class, would be great.

I'm hoping for a battle-mage version of Red Mage. When I first started XI and didn't know which way was up I started a Rdm, grabbed a sword, and En-spell/debuffed/off-healed my way through Valkurm. I never got it past 20 because I got distracted by Drg and Smn, but was sad when I heard Red Mages were basically just casting haste. I want that magic enhanced melee class again. Blue Mage would be equally welcome.

I almost always like Samurai classes in FF games. Only class I took to 99 in XI was sam. I second the sentiment expressed earlier that ninja is pretty popular and probably will be added at some point. My main hope is that the tool system from XI does not ever, ever return. I have to agree that shadows probably won't be returning (at least that's my hope). I wouldn't have had such a big problem with blink tanking in XI if it wasn't essentially "throw gil at this mob to tank." And they made PLD not suck (that happened later from my understanding).

I like the engineer idea though, based on Edgar from FFVI. Using crossbows/guns, and maybe a mechanical pet or something. The pet would amuse me, but not really necessary.

I'm sure SAM will be implemented in the first round of new Jobs, there were far too many people that played it in FFXI for it not to be. The only reason they probably aren't adding it right now is because of the disparity between the number of DoW and DoM jobs. I'm sure that's why they gave us Scholar out of nowhere. Although SCH might very well be a "support" job like bard.

I really wouldn't be surprised if we get 1 or 2 new jobs announced at E3. There's now 2 pieces of information out kind of hinting at more jobs being announced. Maybe it's just hinting at more info on scholar/summoner, but something just feels like they are hiding more from us than simple info on already announced jobs. Just a gut feeling; we'll find out for sure in a week!
