A final fantasy based MOBA would be awesome, they certainly have the characters and lore to pump champions out... A FFT PVP would be archaic, nobody likes to wait for turns 30 minutes etc etc.
A FFT PVP would simply need to implement input timers. If you've ever played a turn-based card game, you could see the appeal of a FFT PVP experience. Yeah, there are some people who take too long on their turn, but implementing a timer is an easy fix.
I hope to be making an MMO with FFT-esque PVP play someday. I've already designed a lot of the system, but I reworked the IP for my current project. Hopefully if that one's successful, I'll be able to invest in the idea.

They already got a franchise they could capitalize on of they put the effort in developing it for consoles. Dissidia.
The problem with making a MOBA is the flair of Final Fantasy combat just does not lend itself well to the 2D style.
Now, if they did something along the lines of Unreal Tournament with Dissidia overtones, then they could make an online compedetive game with Final Fantasy characters all they like, and keep true to the franchise's standards.
Producing a copy of LoL or DOTA isn't going to net them nearly as much.
The combat in dissidia is garbage. In theory it was a good idea, but the execution was Meh! At best....
You do not need to integrate a FF style combat into a MOBA.... That is why it would be a MOBA and not a FFXV
I think the combat in Dissidia is great, and it's probably the best FF title that SE has done since FFXI. Granted I'm not a fighting game buff, but aside from a few balancing issues (and the underdeveloped gameboard system in the story campaign), my only complaint with Dissidia is the lack of a console version. That just seemed like such a miss to me.
