If SE decided to bring over a zone from Vanadiel comeplete with OST for a throwback of sorts, which would you want and why?

For me, oddly enough, I think it would be Rabao.

They've already made some zones similar (La Noscea is a lot like La Theine - both are karst landscapes).

If they were to do a zone wholesale though? Lufaise Meadows. Complete with the cliff overlooking the Tavnazia Arch with dragons swooping down at 4PM over the lake.

Xarcabard. A snowy mountainous region right at the edge of the ocean, that's an awesome atmosphere right there.

Also: Valkurm Dunes, Sarutabaruta

The one with the big waterfall in the Tavnazia area. Can't remember what it's called. Also I really liked the crags. I'd like to walk past or through another of those again.

Mhuara! I would also accept a completely blank zone that just played the Mhuara theme.

I'd second Lufaise, but since they haven't been said yet:

Sanctuary of Zi'tah
Riverne Sites A/B

South Gustaberg!

....bahaha, just kidding. I thought Lufaise instantly when reading the thread, and realize its now the clear favorite, so I'll go with Al'Taieu (Sea). I just loved the look of that zone, and the UFO's were just a really cool feature.

Mhaura. I really loved that small town. Peaceful music, waiting for the ship...

Even though it didn't have music and the navigation was horrible, I've always liked Beaucedine Glacier and the rest of the Northlands. The dark crystal formations were awesome and you could subtly tell that something epic happened there in the past. I guess I'm just a fan of snowy, mountainous areas.. I suppose it's a good thing I just bought the Skyrim: Legendary Edition. XD

The swamp area that you had to take from Bastok to get to Jeuno. I forget its name but it was cool.

Pashow Marshlands?

---

(These are all going to be spelled wrong...)

I liked Zi'Tah, the Promys, the Citadel/Necropolis/Obaulette and Carpenter's Landing. There was something about areas like Carpenter's Landing that were small and somewhat insignificant, but carried it's own atmosphere.

Taking the raft, without teleporting and fast travel, let you soak in the world some more.

I hope that there are little areas like this that make you slow down a bit and appreciate the world.

----

I don't want to derail too much, but what makes a good zone is as much as the zone itself, as it is the destination to get there.

Sanctuary of Zi'tah and Xarcabard. There was a place in xarcabard that i used to go afk, That overlooked the part of the area that had the aurora borealis effect going that radiated out of the ground. I always wondered, did xarcabard always look so..... whats the word.... devoid i guess. the best comparison i can think of is the definition of absolute zero where in which there is no thermal activity whatsoever, in xarcabard there is no form of positivity. there is no happiness, joy, euphoria, excitement or any other positive emotion at all. its a creepy zone. all games need that type of zone where the atmosphere reeks of void.

Sky would be my number one choice. Other than that I have a thing for snowy areas so the more snow the better, but I do miss Sarutabaruta the most tbh.

Pashow marshlands.
And it speaks for the game that I still remember zone names almost a decade after quitting.

Loved the music in Zi'tah, but as a zone I wasn't a huge fan of the layout. For me, I think the top would be both Lufaise Meadows and Misereaux Coast... and as for a dungeon type area, I'd love to see what they could do with either a Riverne style area or a Promivion type area with the new engine.

Movalpolos. I have fond memories of soloing Goblin pets there on BLM and SCH for days at a time. The music is really quirky, I love it.
