Yeah, leaning strongly towards a new server here too. Jumped into XI later on, and while I had a blast with the leveling etc., it just seemed overwhelming to advance at all (was my first MMO too, which didn't help). Playing Oceanic on a NA server as well, meant advancement was difficult.
OTOH, I played TOR from early access, and the thrill of discovery, competition, and general "oh, that looks interesting, might check that out" feeling made the first toon a blast to play (many other issues once I hit 50, but they were game-specific). In addition, being a recognised player for my class (not progression level, just knowledgeable) meant I could help others, which is always nice.
As some others have said, a legacy server/established game sort of makes me feel that I have to "drive" to max level, as that is where the "real" game is. Whilst TOR went downhill fast, the excitement of being among the first to do/see/find something was intoxicating, and makes it easier to be "someone" in the game, whether as an uber-DD, master goldsmith or that WHM who jumps off his bird to raise a random lowbie who is eating dirt.
Hmmm, seems this journal entry has pushed me over the edge! New Server it is!
