I am just wondering if the beta now supports controllers (pc version) if so could I use ps3 or xbox controllers, or do they only allow ps3 controllers right now?
The calibration system had no problem recognizing my PS1 controller connected through a SmartJoy adapter.

I've asked this a few times on Facebook and elsewhere, but nobody really come up with an answer and I really haven't seen anything at all about it. Will the ps3 support a mouse and keyboard setup? I can't imagine playing this game without at least having a keyboard to chat and the like.

Another question though. How will voice chat in game work, if any? Will we all just have to be on vent or mumble or something?

I'm using xbox controller and its beautiful. The UI even tells me buttons to press based on it being the particular controller I have.

As Far As I Know.
No in game VOIP, Mumble or Vent is the solution for that. There are mobile apps for both if you have a smartphone.

Thank you, I learn something everyday.
I hope the ps4 party chat system could be used with this game when it drops. That was one of the worst things about the ps3, voice chat was terrible. It never quite worked right, no matter what game you were playing. Suffice it to say, I did not expect it in FFXIV.

Was added phase 2, but only certain controllers were supported. Mine never worked, though it worked on every other gqme on my pc. Hoping that it's recognized this time. Though, keyboard and mouse worked exceptionally well.
Having trouble with my MotionInJoy drivers for my old PS2 controller, but I suspect that's a Windows 8 problem. The game detected it just fine.
I use my 360 controller, it works swimmingly
Detected my controller and calibrated fine, but after I hit start, I just get the loading screen with the guy talking. No video, nothing, just a constant loading screen. Guessing the servers are still fubard?
