So with P3 coming to an end soon, what changes based on player feedback do you think will be made for P4 of the beta and ultimately retail release? What adjustments or additions are you hoping for?

Improvements to system response (interacting with objects during bosses specifically)
Overall improvement to color (It's inconsistant in some areas)
Improvements to the Limit Break system
Lowering of the GCD to 1.5 seconds
Reworking of boss mechanics to be a bit more active and challenging
More character customization (hairstyles probably)
Map improvements
Overall menu improvements
SLI/Crossfire support

I would love for them to abolish invisible walls and add in swimming, but that isn't going to happen! I doubt PvP will be available either.

What do you guys think?

I really hope that they add a bit more customization to the characters. But I'm pretty happy with what I have so I'd like to carry his appearance to P4.

Adding more different Limit Breaks, or even skill chains.

There are some menu things that are a bit wonky but overall I think it's great.

---

Targeting does suck, well maybe not suck, but I will have to use a macro or something. Targeting during FATES and Dungeons can be a bit hectic.

^ Some new hairstyles and faces would be nice.

I noticed that for male characters, their idea of "more hairstyles" was just sharing some from other races. So they added some Lalafell hairstyles to Hyur and Elezen... etc.

They need new faces more though.

I'm not keeping up with the announcements but I would imagine mostly bug fixes. I bet they're not going to have us test anything that could seem sloppy because a lot of people are going to use Phase 4 to try the game out. So I kind of doubt we'll even get to test PVP and housing but I'm not sure.

Please limit that idea to simple DDs; because as a GLA trying to keep a grasp on the current situation 2.0 is already barely manageable.
And even pugilists might have problems with the 1.5 seconds; because positioning in a frenetic fight takes time.

The gist of their feedback tracker says stuff similar to this is probably happening after release by implementing a "Beauty Salon". Unless you want Lalafel males to have nipples. They're not going to change that.

I guess that's good if they keep adding more.

No comment on possibly making Elezens look less ugly... they really seem ruined in the new engine if you ask me.

All though this isnt a adjustment based on feedback, it sure is part of the feedback. Allow us to use Archanist/Summoner is phase 4 so the progress will carry forward with release.

Is it any different than on the PC wit ha controller? Because I've had a BLAST on PC with gamepad, with absolutely no issues with targeting.

But... They SHOULD do one thing by default: Lock Camera.

You can turn this option on, and the camera will auto-lock on whichever enemy you are attacking, which makes it really easy to know exactly what you are targeting, but with the unlocked camera it feels a bit to floaty and confusing in hectic fights.

This is an option under Character Configuration > Target (the second tab over).

It's called "Automatically lock on target when initiating Auto-attack". You could try toggling this on.

Also on this menu is "Automatically face target when initiating an action". This in ON by default.

Also, have you tried the "Standard" movement scheme under Character Configuration > General?

With "Standard" set (instead of Legacy) it unlocks the option to Auto-adjust the camera to the direct you are facing "only when moving".

From what you are saying, it seems these camera options would help you significantly.

Heya, have you tried Character Configuration > Filters (third tab over).

In the top area there are two main menus, "While weapon is sheathed." and "While weapon is drawn."

You may want to add additional targeting options to "While weapon is drawn".
Try adding "NPC/Objects", so that you can snag a chest or interact with an object during a battle.

This is very dangerous because it removes your ability to strafe out of evil red circles of anger. Backpeddling out is slower.

For me, I'm hoping for more character customization, for sure. One thing in particular is that male miqo'te have these marks under their eyes that can't be removed. I'd like to be able to remove those. I don't usually have facial markings on my characters, and those are really conspicuous.

I would love to be able to get rid of those marks.

Right now, I'm just hoping the changes to the gamepad and hotbar are decent. Even at low levels, I'm running out of decent places to put skills.

You can always set a keybind to toggle the lock on button so that you can still run out. Best of both worlds for those who like to be locked on for combat. I can say that being locked on is very nice for transitioning back to side on pug for combos.

well targeting monsters isnt TOO bad teh issue is slightly related to targeting party members for healing and even worse targeting ppl who ARENT in your party for healing (that last part is nearly impossible... supposedly)

Yoshi was supposedly on Ifrit Server and gave some hints on what might go on in Phase 4.. Keep in mind that I found this on BG and isn't completely confirmed yet.
But I will post it here just in case Smiley: smile

Quote:

After reading through the original JP blog that posted that screenshot in which Yoshi-P was answering questions when he showed up on the Ifrit server, I can indeed confirm that he said Phase 4 is one week. As a further confirmation, before he gave the one week date he also said that Phase 4 is 'relatively short'.

A summary of other stuff he said:

- They're trying to get Arcanist ready for Phase 4
- Please wait a little more for the details on how Arcanist works (perhaps revealed in the upcoming Niconico Live Event?)
- Event Bosses implemented in Phase 4
- SLI support implemented in Phase 4
- Male Miqotes (and other races?) will have unique motions when entering baths
- When leveling a second class, you will have bonus exp
- Addressed a bug where the cursor goes funny in some instances
- Adjustments to how (slow/fast) a Gatherer levels
- Adjustments (maybe) to the ease of making HQs from NQ materials in crafting
- An in-game event will be implemented right away after Launch (Bomb Event?)
- The dev team has designed endgame events to outright kill players
- (The Labyrinth of) Bahamut is so long, it pretty much requires players to 'save progress' as they proceed through the dungeon
- No plans to implement a 'your server only' option for the Duty Finder as for now

As per why he came to that decision for the last point, Yoshi-P made a long post about the Duty Finder in which he explains why, so wait till the offical translated response for that.

Yoshi has repeatedly stated the GCD will not be lowered.

Also, he said they won't do individual limit breaks for balance reasons. I'd be absolutely fine if they simply kept the limit break system the same but added different animations for each class/job that does it.

I use a Macro for targeting. I use my number 1 key as the targeting key since it's close to the other Keys I need to use during a fight.

When playing on the PS3 you can also toggle this option by simply pressing the L3 button, very easily accessible and makes it very easy to turn off to run out of AoE attacks.

Ah that's right! Good call.

Also, Thanks Suijin. That post should get a thread!
