I didnt get to far into the lancer during the beta, about lvl 20, but i noticed i didnt any multiple enemy attack. I remember in 1.0 there were a few that were front facing cone attacks(leg sweep i think). Are there any type attacks later on that i just didnt get to, or are they reserved the Dragoon?
Side note - When I was in a dungeon, my party consisted of an archer(+ glad, conj.) I thought it was awesome, and odd that the Archer had a group attack, but i didnt.
Please dont take this as a gripe, just thinking about it, I think its odd. An archer can attack a group but a lancer couldnt. does the murader get an attack like that? It would definitely be helpful in the dungeons when the enemy parties attack, being able to attack them all. Even if it was small amounts of damage on the non-main target.

If you go to http://xivdb.com/?search/!filters/IlNLSUxMUzpBU0FfRFJBR09PTjpBQ0FfSU5HQU1FXzEi, you'll find all of the abilities LNC and DRG learn. To be honest, you're much better off using single target abilities in the earlier dungeons. The only exceptions I can think of off the top of my head are those bats and clams in Sastasha. Other than that, tanks are the only classes you'll want using AoEs. Everyone else should focus on the tank's primary target.

MRD does get an ability called Overpower which is a cone shaped AoE. The damage isn't great, but it generates a ton of enmity. Like GLA, MRD is a tank.

Awesome, Thank you for the answers.

I think it was at a dungeon ..(sorry i forget the name, but it was before the ifrit battle) where they sent mobs of an enemy (bats i think) at you and you had to survive for a a minute. the mobs were weak, but all i could think of was why i didnt have some kind of AOE cone attack atleast to help kill them faster.

Sounds like copperbell, and I don't think any class besides MRD or THM has AoE at that level. This game, similar to FFXI, focuses a lot more on single target attacks than it does on AoE. That's not to say there won't be AoE, as I believe every class gets at least 1-2 abilities, but it won't be the staple like it is for some games/classes.

ARC gets Quick Knock at 18, but the rest are pretty much out of luck until they're at least 30. I completely forgot about that fight in Copperbell.

Ah, thanks for the correction. I only ever got archer to 16 so didn't know about that.
