no there id no "8 months' of content the game is just lacking in content...
Games aren't made to play all day every day and keep you entertained forever. It's great that you had nothing else to do, but for your average player all day everyday for 2 months is roughly equivalent to 8 months of gameplay. They don't play as often so they don't burn out as fast.
so then please do explain how it is that i played FFXI just as much as i played DCUO and NEVER ran out of stuff to do nor did I EVER do EVERYTHING there was to do? clearly THAT game WAS made to be played forever.. also I said it takes 8 hours to reach max level in DCUO.. umm even if you dont play all day everyday 8 hours to hit cap in an mmo is bad.. i mean single player games can get beaten in that time (o less)
You don't need an explanation from me. It takes a few hours to cap a job in DCUO whereas it takes months to cap in XI. Obvious answer is obvious.
Funny thing about that is, I knew 8 hours into leveling a job in FFXI that it would be just as boring for the next 8 months it took me to finally reach the cap. FFXI players who capped multiple jobs under the original leveling scheme prior to experience points to level being reduced, level sync, field and grounds books, ect. did so because they liked the punishment, not because they liked the content. Nothing about going from one camp of crabs to the next is fresh or exciting. People just wanted to make it to cap with the hope that they'd be rewarded for all their time with a healthy dose of something fun to do.

Its personal preference and all, but yes we need to educate WoW players that this is OUR game, these are Characters and not Toons. Time to beat that into them one at a time.
