I am a little surprised actually, I am getting a second 7970 before release to Crossfire with the one I have, but at maximum settings and 7600x1440 screen size I scored around 3000 with just one card with old drivers. Obviously I wouldn't max out the settings if I were to play with it, I'd rather get better performance, but still impressed it did as well as it did at those resolutions. WIll be interesting to see what another card will do together with updated drivers.

Still waiting for the PC that I ordered to arrive. My only concern is how this will run with Windows 8. I haven't heard many good things about this version of Windows.

Don't worry about Win 8. There's a learning curve to deal with, but once you know how it works, it plays well.

Good to know. Thanks!

I also use Windows 8 on my laptop and the game runs perfectly fine! I had an issue when I updated to the 8.1 preview, but I honestly think something was corrupted on my pc. Plenty of people play on 8.1 without a problem.

Just using this as an example. One of the best things you can do for your score without lowering your settings is lowering your resolution. I think a lot of people are a little OCD about that 1920x1080 number. 1360x768 is absolutely beautiful, and smooth as silk.

I'm running 1360x768 because that's the highest my TV goes through VGA.

I'd post the exact numbers but I'm on my phone.

I have a q9550 (oc'd), 6gb of ram and a 550ti and at Max its around 8k (60fps)and with AO turned off (and a couple other things) its around 11k.(100fps)

----

I think I settled on a manqo'te btw; in the RSE they carry themselves a lot like Balthier. Plus Male midlander humes just look too frumpy in most gear and I didn't like any of the Highlanders faces. Maybe I'll mess with it more tomorrow.

Laptops generally switch back and forth as needed between your integrated graphics and the discreet GPU. Can't remember what it's called... maybe optimus? There are ways to get around it, but it requires modified drivers. Not something I recommend unless you're comfortable bricking your laptop if you make a mistake; one that isn't covered by warranty Smiley: glare

Same here however I'm using HDMI with a 42" on my desk with a native of 1360x768. Personally I can't run a 1080 desktop on your average 24". My eyes start to hurt after a while.

When I ran beta on my secondary rig it defaulted to 1280x720 max. I played for 6 hours before I noticed when I was in the menus. The game still looked great.

Anyone tried running this in surround/eyefinity?

I got 4100 at 5860x1080 with max settings
GTX 680 4gb with 326.41 beta driver
16gb DDR3 2x8 RAM
Windows 8 64 bit
i7 3770k 3.5ghz

Wondering if changing drivers would raise my score, nVidia put out a chain of bad ones the past few months.

They have been putting out some sh*t drivers lately haven't they? I think you're better off running beta atm.

I don't know dude... you're rendering 6.3 million pixels at that res. Crazy. Make sure Vsync is off in your control panel. You're definitely not reaching your refresh rate at that score and it would only be slowing you down.

So I am scoring around 6100 on high and 5800 on maximum. Do you think keeping my setting at maximum will end up slowing me down? Just worried about if we every get to a situation like Jueno where it takes forever to the are to load?

I tried it, but it really feels like crossfire/sli would be optimal for it. Like I said in my previous post I got a 3k score @7600x1440 resolution with a 7970 on max settings which is okay for one card, but I don't think I'd want to raid with those stats.

Got only a 1200 on my laptop running high detail at 1920 x 1080. It says "low" but it ran smoothly throughout P3, so I'm guessing it won't be an issue except for raiding or large scale PvP, for which I'll need to use the desktop.

The first thing I would do is turn off AA and turn down the shadows a bit. It would be barely noticeable and keep you running smooth.

I wouldn't switch off AA unless you were desperate. Not everyone would like their character looking like a pixilated sprite for a minute improvement in performance. Shadows are a good suggestion though. I usually don't like how they get rendered anyway.

All my new computer parts are in the mail though so hopefully next week I can join the cool kids with good numbers.

Pixelated is a bit strong of a word! AA just removes jaggies from edges and honestly I can barely tell the difference in XIV. I don't like turning it off either but it's a pretty significant boost in performance. Try it.

I don't think AA is working correctly with ARR anyway. Can you tell the difference? I can't. Both have jaggies on the neck and around the ears.

Running at max:
1920x1080: 10300 @ ~90fps
5860x1080: 4100 @ ~35fps

I'd really like to run this in surround, though it looks like I'll be taking a hit. I'll need a new case, motherboard, and PSU to go SLI
Anyone know what price range I'd be looking at?
