I have been listening to a number of FFXIV related podcasts lately, and they are very entertaining and a great way to catch up on the latest information.

I was thinking... why don't we have one for Zam?

Like a weekly "Talk Show" for FFXIV enthusiasts to catch up on the latest information, buzz... hints and tips, etc...

We have some very interesting people here who are regulars on the site, so I'm sure between all of us we could put a very interesting "show" together.

What do you all think about getting one going?

I have never done a podcast myself, but I imagine i could be a host or co-host, or guest host.. or guest... or whatever we need lol...

Anyone have direct experience with doing podcasts?

Wint, any thoughts?

I know nothing about podcasts, I've never even watched one. Let me know what you need and I can ask the appropriate people.

I believe Pikko would know. Jinte and Exodus are likely to as well.

Imagine a radio talk show, only just about stuff you really really care about... it's a very cool concept...

Some other forum sites have one for FFXIV, I don't see why we couldn't do one better Smiley: grin

Ok, when I said I know nothing, I meant more about what goes into making them. I'm familiar with the concept at least Smiley: smile

She's very busy with her other projects, I don't think she ever checks the forums anymore. I'm Lead Content Manager for XIV now, which I think was her position before.

And you certainly deserve it. Not many environments where the mods will associate with lowly plebes like us. This atmosphere feels very 'homie' (did i just say 'homie'?) to me because of that. Three cheers for Wint! HIP HIP...

As for the podcast, sounds really interesting to me. I'd definitely watch (listen) and support it, although I'd be no good at hosting. I'm a horrible orator. Might be a bit of bad timing though, considering beta and early access is right around the corner. Would have to find people who would be willing to give up a few hours of game time.

So basically you became "Caliph instead of the Caliph" (iznogoud please tell me I am not the only one that knows this).

I know I suggested it months ago but you could get Aetheryte Radio, not to mention great wiki support, by merging with Gamerescape. They have the content and media skills Zam lacks and Zam has the membership and audience they lack. Just something to consider.

HAHAHA sorry I misunderstood... I know nothing about HOW to make one either, but that's what Google is for, right?

And I can talk pretty well, I'm sure good enough to help anyways even if I weren't the main host, assuming you wanted me to...

Anyways. As always I'm here suggesting things I know nothing about... .stay tuned for more nonsense!

I used to do a gaming podcast on thatvideogameblog.com. The important thing is to have an organized program with segments and a set time (things we lacked severely...) The quickest way to lose listeners is to have an unfocused podcast that rambles for 2 hours.
