do you need a kb for ps3?Follow

Hi my brother is looking to play this game and I was curious on how well the ps3 version is playing? He doesn't have a keyboard and I wanted to know if one was needed. If you do need one can you just use a cheapo like $10 and just plug it in and use it just for typing? I am worried cause I saw somebody post some crazy looking keyboard setups in these forums and I didn't see any regular keyboards?

You don't NEED one but you need one. Without a Keyboard you wouldn't be able to communicate with other players and that would make them not want to play with you.

And yes you could use pretty much any USB keyboard. If you want a wireless one Logitech makes a great one for $20-$30.

Do you need a keyboard to play? No. The game is solo-friendly enough that extensive communication is not required. In dungeons he will be able to get by with basic commands, many of which are in the auto-translate function.

But to enjoy the game to the fullest he will want to communicate extensive (it is an MMO, after all). In practice, it is impractical to type in a linkshell, free company, etc. all while trying to level or whatever. So although it isn't required I highly recommend a keyboard.

Any USB keyboard should do the trick. I got mine off Amazon for less than $15, shipping included, and it works without any problems.

You might want to consider picking up a USB extension cable to, if your PS3 is far away from your seat.

Or she could pretend to be like Crono, and only communicate using emotes.
