PSN Pre-Order codeFollow

I was wondering if anyone received a pre-order code after purchasing the game through PSN.

It clearly states that you will have the in-game items and access to early play when you buy, but I received no code after the purchase. If nobody got them, I can assume that they will be sent later as some merchants apparently do. But if everyone got one immediately except me, I'm gonna start worrying.

Thanks for any information

Oh good, thanks. I haven't had a PS3 for very long and it's the first time I pre-order something with bonus items.

Yeah, it's already on your system. You won't need to enter a code. Think of the pre-order items as DLC that's already installed in the game file. Should be good to go.

Wow, I didn't know that we had the option of preordering through PSN. Granted I bought my PS3 two weeks ago and do not pay for the PSN service, so that may be my problem, but when I access the Playstaton Store or do a search for FFXIV, all I can find is one video.

The pre-order code is downloaded and installed in a separate 9MB file along with the 6GB download for ARR (it should have downloaded both files with your purchase). As such, it's taken care of automatically.

Congrats on purchasing your ultimate media box (PS3)
No subscription needed for PSN. Playstation Plus is a service you can subscribe to, but it is motly useful for discounted/free games than anything else. This will change slightly once PS4 is released, but it will be up to the developer to decide if their game requires a subscription or not.

It showed up on PSN only yesterday. It may not be there yet for you depending on region (I'm in Canada).

Thanks for the information! Where did you see that though? In my download list I only had the theme and the game. I might not be looking at the right place.

Unless I misread, the 9MB file is the free FFXIV:ARR theme for your PS3 and the 6.5GB is the game client (same fore P4, EA, launch).

Well now I have my doubts. I'll take another look when I get back home.

Ok, I've found this on the Beta Forums:

Quote:
When I bought my digital CE, I downloaded 3 things. Theme(Free in store, few kils), Game(6+gb) and Items(5+mb) which had CE Theme(same as 1mil registered theme, but two extra added CG pictures and neon red icons), Helm of Light, Mog Cap, Minion 1, Minion 2, Barding and Mount(All in the same 5+mb file). If you're looking for separate files for each item, it doesn't exist. Look in your "Recent Downloads" section in PS Store and have a look at what you bought.

And now I have my doubts. I pre-ordered standard version which includes the 6.5GB game, 9MB in themes but I never got any extra downloading file for items (considering that I should get Mog Cap and Cat Sith as pre-order bonuses). Now I'm worried lol.

I suspect the 9MB file had all the extras including the theme in it. That's why all the confusion.

It states it on the description of the collectors edition that it has all that

Okay, so I had a chance to check on this finally, so I thought I'd follow up.

The extra file does have everything you need in it. If you review the download list under Account Management - > Transaction Management, it does refer to it as the Pre Order Theme. However if you check your Services list which appears below the Download list under Transaction Management, you should see ARR listed. If you open it for more details, you'll see your Early Access code and your Standard Edition pack for pre-order items have already been registered.

Thanks for the follow-up, I appreciate it.

Sony's account management rivals Square's in terms of complexity. I don't see what you found. Maybe it's different by region (Canada here) but I don't see any Services list anywhere. I'm checking both the store and the account management websites and I looked everywhere I could on the PS3 itself yesterday. I see ARR in the transaction history, but not the theme. I see the theme in the download list, but there's no way to show details, it just takes me back to the game page on the store.

I'm not gonna worry too much about it anyway, I'll assume they know what they're doing Smiley: lol
