Still No Download Yet >.<Follow

Hopefully those of us with slow connections will have enough time to actually download the game before the game goes live. If it doesn't come up in the next hour or two my girlfriend won't even be able to play for the next two days since she has to go out of state all day today. There wasn't even any freaking reason for them to have to wait until the day before to allow for a major download there is such a thing as patches. This is more like the SE I remember hating while playing FFXI. After the whole thing with P4 and Early Access i shouldn't have expected anything less. They could have at least announced a time that it would be available so SOME of us weren't staying up for 24 hours after working all night hoping it becomes available before they slam their heads against their desks until they pass out.



So... tired... the pain... the anguish... ... ... rage.

Well while I doubt that the game is actually 20 GB, that seems to be the general consensus. If that's the case I download 600mb/hr at 1.5mbps. That would be around 31 hours.. Don't give me any crap about the connection speed because it is what it is.

I received emails about downloading the client early this morning from SE but the downloader still says it's down for maintenance. Surely it will be available today.

While I won't have an issue downloading the game before tomorrow, since I'm sitting on a 1gb/1gb connection (Gotta love Sweden <3) I do feel rather sorry for my foreign brothers and sisters who won't be able to download it in time =(

SE sure does have a way of quelling my enthusiasm. I'm not going to freak out or anything, but it does seem rather lame that they haven't put the client up for PC players, yet PS3 players have been downloading since yesterday. I'm wondering if there is some kind of technical issue with it or something. All I know is, the internet at my house has been sucking the past 2 days and I had really wanted to start downloading now to counter that, so I better be able to download on my laptop at work or I might start really freaking out.

So apparently the download was supposed to be available 3 and a half hours ago but there was some sort of issue and now they are trying to get everything to work. You know, this would be a wonderful time for them to save face and extend P4 an extra day or two, but this is SE we're talking about so i think we are just going to be SoL.

This is kind of the reason you don't just wait until the last minute to do everything. Granted it's still just open beta, but you have to wonder why they couldn't allow people to download the client a couple days early so they don't run into these issues. Hopefully it's fixed soon.

Exactly, not to mention they HAD to have had this stuff ready at least a week ago. That would be some terrible business practices to leave major issues until the day of beta start (I think it's an hour and a half until JP midnight for the 16th >.>). So much for that early phase start for previous testers.

I agree that it probably wasn't the smartest decision to hold off that long, but we ARE still 20+ hours from the servers even going live, so I wouldn't say the early phase is ruined or anything. I just hope whatever issue they are having gets resolved soon as I'd really like to start downloading ASAP. I have a feeling it's going to take a very long time.

6gb on the PS3, assuming similar size for PC.

Doubtful. The way they reuse assets, it is most likely everything 1-50, and they are just content locking things. Plus i find it hard to believe a game with these graphics is at 20gb like some are claiming.
