So I was able to login about 5:30 EST this morning after a half an hour of logging on/off. Deleted my 1.0 character and made a new one on the Ultros server. Name is Jaggars Oliana. Started as a Lancer and ran around Gridania doing the quests and was able to just start killing squirrels and lady bugs before I had to leave for work. Made it to level 4...

Now I'm stuck at work for the next 7 hours before I can log in again.

Who else is in my boat with me? How far were you able to get before you had to be a grown up and go to work? Oh and today was a mandatory inservice so I couldn't get *Sick* today either...it was kind of a bummer...

I'm thinking we need a "waiting for the 17th" thread too.

Got through the opening cut scene, accepted the first main quest... and now I wait. I can play for about 30 min during lunch, but otherwise I've got another 6 and a half hours to go.

I really should've just taken a day off today. >.>

Oh man.. I've been waiting so long to play this, p4 is my first time getting into the game, I woke up a couple hours earlier then usual after getting hardly any sleep because I waited for the problem with Na ps3 accounts to resolve itself. But I got to play for a couple hours and I was so tempted to call into work when it came time to leave.. But I'm on my way. To work with heavy machinery while sleep deprived....

I'd rather be in Eorzea.

That should be a bumper sticker.

Got my guy created (name is short and sweet: Valk Ayree), completed the first quest, accepted the second, and logged off. Thank you PS3 for your little *ding ding* when the update was finished or I wouldn't have woken up that early to get that far. Now I need to hang on until 4pm.

Forget being stuck at work... I MAY NEVER GET TO PLAY FFXIV ARR!!!

Wifey not to thrilled about me going back to playing final fantasy... I was not so great at managing my time with FFXI nor FFXIV 1.0 and I pretty much left some hefty scars emotionally that we've since been blessed to overcome. But none the less... I may just have to kiss my gaming life goodbye. Have you ever wished you could keep what you know about the past but change it? Well that's how I feel about playing FFXI... wish I could go back and smack myself REAL HARD and warn old marty... err I mean jayfly about time and family management.

Eww. San Antonio. In August. I lived there seven years. Bring three extra towels to wipe off all the sticky muggy humid toxic fumes.

Put a positive swing on it. Promise yourself that you will take breaks, don't allow it to consume you. Tell her it is not FF11. Put emphasis on duty finder and the ease of finding parties. Tell her it caters to older gamers who have real lives. Most of my troubles with my time management came from waiting on other people. That won't happen so much in FFXIV. Tell her the dungeons are timed. More teleportation to get to areas instantly instead of walking. You can take breaks in between. You have to make it your enjoyment, but don't let it become who you are.

I got to work 3 hours ago and, with the way it is currently looking I may be stuck here for the next 7 hours. This entire week has been slow, why do a million things have to pop up today? Smiley: cry

Hehe. I would buy one.

I am pleasantly surprised that everything just worked exactly right on the first try. Crazy. PS3 and PC!

So now it's work fast and get everything done! A quick stop by the kids' school orientation (on a Friday?!) and then -

Let the Wild Rumpus begin!
