I didn't get a lot of time to play this morning but I tried without much success to take a SS on my PS3. Has anyone who has had more time figured out how to do this?

Great question princessary. I'm really looking forward to updating a targeting guide with actual PS3 screenshots. Anyone who has suggestions or directions for how to do this, including getting the files to the PC (a normal USB flash drive will work?) that would be great.

If you format a flash drive for PS3, does the PC read it? and vice versa?

If we don't get any replies I'l post what I figure out when I get home.

I think that to get your pics to a PC you shouldn't have to do anything more than plug your flash drive into your PS3 and copy the pic over to the flash drive then transfer the flash drive to the PC and copy the pics to the PC. The reverse is how I got pics from my comp to my PS3 to use as wallpapers.

Right on thanks!

Ooh, ohh, I found this in the Beta 4 Patch notes:

Quote:
Players can now take screenshots using a gamepad. (LB(L1) + START)
Players can now toggle the display of the HUD using a gamepad. (LB(L1) + BACK(SELECT))
Players can now take screenshots while playing on PlayStation 3.
* Saved screenshots can be found under Photo in the Xross Media Bar.

I did but I couldn't take any during cut scenes or during character creation. Also, mine are slightly blurry... atl east when I viewed them on my TV. This evening when I get home I am going to transfer them to my flash drive and see if they are blurry on a smaller screen. Might just be because I'm on a 46"... the thing that is throwing me off though is that the game looks good and crisp so Idon't get why the SS wouldn't be.

I have a friend who has this same problem. I've been trying to find information about it, but no luck. He can't take screenshots either.

yu can also just plug in a keyboard and do scroll lock and printscreen. and you can change your screen settin to either jpeg or peng. jpeg is best on the ps3 then peng. they don't let you take pics during CS or anything lie that.

Mine screenshots were working fine, at whatever the highest setting you could out it on was. Now I just have to figure how to put them on my computer. My problem is I can't find my flash drives.Smiley: lol

Yeah I started having that error message too yesterday. I was able to take 4 screenshots but that's all. I'd try again but I'm locked out.

Bummer, wanted to update the PS3 targeting thread. Guess it will have to wait. They have a new option to have the D-pad and D-pad both on the same side while the cross bar is active, and it's a great option, need screenshot to explain.

My friends could not make character on our legacy server, it was full.
Than I tried to make a character on their new server, and it was full.

I hope they are saving extra room for launch. Crazy popular Open Beta weekend.

I've taken so many screenshots so far. I have had the failed thing come once or twice, but I just shrugged it off and kept going. I probably have about 60 so far. I should get an account here so I can post a few of them. I'm on ps3 just for the record.

I know it is set default for .PNG maybe switching over to a JPEG will help. YOu can change that in system settings.

Good point, I'll try that next time. I get the feeling that saving the file is a task left the the PS3 OS, and seeing as it takes a while to save the files, maybe it's taking too long and the error is just a timeout? The PNG files are a bit large, more than 2mb for some. Maybe JPG will be faster. As long as they're not too badly compressed.
