Looks like they're fixing the servers. Its only effecting NA/EU servers and says it'll be down for 3 hours.

I'm curious as to why the JP servers aren't having the same issues. Smiley: dubious They must have done an experiment?

Someone, I don't remember who on here, suggested it could be equipment problems at the data center. Maybe.

Hmmm, is that why I got booted? It was a Visual C++ runtime error. Nice way to log people out, SE! :P

Yea, I barely caught it in the chat log going by. Maybe a 5 minute warning, if that.

On the boss of Tam Tara...nice warning SE! Lol. Oh well, guess it's probably better or else I would have just been up until 5 am and then tired as **** tomorrow at work. I guess it was SE's way of telling me to go to bed.

My friend was able to log in for the first time in over a day. As soon as he logged in he saw the message for maintenance. He's currently only able to speak in all capital letters right now.

So mad, I was literally about to log out and was walking to the Inn so I would have rested XP for the entire week when I log back on. Now I guess I won't get the chance :( Thanks SE for ******** me out of all that extra XP............

Despite the issues, I had a good run. I met some good people and made some additions to the guild I'm trying to build! I can't wait til Saturday!

It's not optimal, but they're probably wanting to test the 'fix' during the remaining time left before OB is over, since it's related to so many users' log-in troubles. They really should go ahead and extend OB until Tuesday since we're now out of NA/EU prime-time as it is, and make sure it doesn't repeat itself.

I love this idea. The next 2 days are the first 2 days I don't have 12 hour shifts since before open beta started. Who's a$$ do I need to kiss to make this happen Smiley: nod

I've been working through out this whole OB. My only days off are Monday and Tuesday. I support this idea of extending through Wednesday morning.

Taking the servers down until there is only an hour and a half left in the beta window.

Do you think they might extend the beta window until tomorrow to see if they sorted any of the issues out?

From this happening, I think a lot of ppl might transfer to JP server.
As you can see, only NA/EU had this 3102 error problem and it took almost 24hr to investigate for fix.
It looks like JP server would be much more safe and SE can quickly solve any trouble....

I'm gonna risk it here. I hate being bad due to lag. I can fix poor playing, lag is a different issue.

With the servers down and reopening, only for an hour and a half mind you; I feel like an extension is not out of the question.

Did everyone else get the error 90000 before being booted? Want to make sure everyone I'm not the only one...

The bigwigs at SE probably didn't expect FFXIV to have this kind of turnaround outside of the JP community and let their guard down. And in-turn, the NA/EU buckled under pressure because of it.

Not sure what the error code was, but it was a Visual C++ Runtime error. An invalid virtual procedure call or some such.

Whew! Good thing I made it to my Inn Room.

I spent all weekend leveling PUG and LNC so I could play Monk, only to find out that the 4-man group I'm running with had 3 DDs and 1 CNJ. I'ma need that extra EXP boost to get caught up with GLD/CNJ during early access.

I don't understand why everyone reverts to this argument. Not saying necessarily that you're the main culprit, but it was the last straw for me when I read it.

How would SE not have expected this sort of NA/EU turnout for players? They sent out all the invites! They have the exact number of the maximum potential players they were going to let onto those servers. I just don't understand how "they were blindsided by the NA/EU turnout" is even a logical arguemnt.

Edit: Venting aside, I really hope this maintenance works. Though there will be minimal time to guarantee it's a fix rather than a band-aid, it will show that they have the tools/method to address it in the future if the problem ever reoccurs.

Gilgamesh is still online. It said that worlds hosted on the NA and EU datacenters would be unavailable during maintenance, but I and many others are huddled in sanctuary waiting. I'm hearing that some people were kicked and that no one can log in, but we're still online. I think I'm just going to log out anyway. I've been hearing reports of people losing progress after they're kicked off the server. I don't think I want to risk it.

since they shut down the servers and I have the retarded code 3102 would my character be logged out to since evidently he was still in game but never left it
